YT 2000 Club Member | dog I want my Yorkies on healthy food and I honestly tried Blue Buffalo. I am not kidding, my boys had runny stools and I took them off of it. I had a gut feeling that blue buffalo was not as good as it is cracked up to be. Just speaking from experience as to what it did to my dogs. I f any company lies about their products they should be put out of business. Our dogs are precious and this should not happen. If it is true may they lose business and close doors. |

| Update:The test results from each sides expert is in, this is a summery of what it contains: Purina has produced their test results on Blue Buffalo pet food. Blue Buffalo has hired their own expert to refute it. The Pet Food Fight continues. Purina hired their expert – James V. Makowski Ph.D. in February 2014. Dr. Makowski charges $250.00 an hour. Not to be outdone, Blue Buffalo hired their expert Vinayak P. Dravid, Ph.D to refute Dr. Makowski’s findings. Dr. Dravid charges $300.00 an hour. Purina’s Dr. Makowski provided his “Curriculum Vitae” – 8 pages in length. Blue Buffalo raised with Dr. Dravid’s “Curriculum Vitae” at a whopping 66 pages. Purina’s Dr. Makowski stated he was hired by Nestle Purina to analyze several Purina pet foods and several Blue Buffalo Pet Foods, but he “was not provided with any reasons, hypotheses, expectations, suspicions, or goals associated with my analysis.” Blue Buffalos Dr. Dravid knew exactly why he was hired, “to provide a preliminary opinion about the scientific adequacy and reliability of the conclusions set forth in the Expert Report of James V. Makowski…” Purina’s expert provided detailed explanation of his testing procedures and findings. Dr. Makowski stated he found “small fragments of egg shell, raw feather and leg scale” – which would indicate by-products. Blue Buffalo’s expert seems to tear down every aspect of Purina’s report calling Purina’s science “rudimentary”, “inappropriate methodology” and found that Purina’s expert lab is actually located in a residence. Even if you don’t speak ‘science’ (I don’t speak science) – when you read Purina’s report and Blue Buffalo’s rebuttal, it appears Blue Buffalo’s expert has the upper hand. Did Purina base a massive lawsuit on this evidence alone? Or do they have more cards up their sleeve they are not disclosing yet? These two companies are dueling for market share. What a shame they aren’t fighting to see who can feed more shelter pets – or who can use the highest quality ingredients in their pet foods. Nope – this fight is simply about money. That’s the real crime. These are the legal documents, they are pretty lengthy: Learn the Truth Behind Purina's Junk Science Preliminary Report, Independent Testing by Windsor Laboratories

| Hello all! Happy New Years. I recently read about this Blue Buffalo lawsuit. Interestingly enough, Bailey refused to eat the stuff when we first got him and BB was recommended. We couldn't figure out why, but now, perhaps we understand Bailey is a smart little guy. He is in love with the Fromm White Fish and Potato food. He went from finicky eater to licking the bowl after it's gone. Hope all are doing well! |

| In the vein of money and ads and marketing.... Being a night person, I sleep late and stay up VERY late, not usually getting down until 2am or later. I am sooooooo over all the ads of the starving abused dogs and cats and horses featured by the ASPCA, running 2+minute ads, on an average of every 2 hours, on multiple stations, all night long. The money they are spending on this TV advertising bombardment , and you KNOW it is millions and millions of dollars.....could be spent on directly caring for the animals!!! They could run several ads on TV, on a couple of stations, then use the rest of the tons of money they are blowing on generating more money to be used on ADVERTISING and not caring for the animals, they could use it to upgrade facilities....provide food for their facilities.....provide pet food to Meals on Wheels, who feed our SENIOR citizens, who often have pets that they feed THEIR meals to because they can not afford dog/cat food.....the millions of dollars they spend over-saturating public TV with ads designed to get them MORE money to use on MORE ads......misappropriation of funds I think..... There are publications that provide income recieved versus output of those resources and where that money ACTUALLY is spent within the organization....what percent is actually spent on animal care and what is spent on management, payroll, stationary, travel expenses for management, etc....... | Not sure why the update was not posted here: Purina fires back at Blue Buffalo for back-peddling on by-products - Poisoned Pets | A look inside the pet food industry Purina was right. Blue admitted it. It took Purina to hreak down the composition of Boue's food just as it took MSU to figure out Blue was causing illness with excessive vitamin D.

| Mine was on BB and then months later started eating grass like no tomorrow, which wasn't normal for him. I got worried and was thinking about what is going on with him when I met someone who told me her friend had issues with BB and her Vet told her to take her dog off of BB immediately and long story short...I decided to switch. I switched to Purina One Smartblend, but now I'm having issues with him vomiting. Once in a blue moon he vomits if he eats grass but this is rare especially when he vomited 2 days in a row. Thinking it is the food perhaps and now undecided what to feed him since he's been on more foods than I can count~! |

| Maybe your right, cause when he vomited the first time it wasn't digested and the kibbles were blown up. It's not for a small dog as some are noted on the packages of dry kibbles. Also, I didn't know that about Purina either. |
