YT 2000 Club Member | Tick! for the first time ever I found a deer tick on one of my dogs. We are assuming it feel from one of our pines because of the location of where it was on him, his upper back by his shoulders. My yard is still a wet mess so my dogs are walked on a leash confined to my front yard only. I have never been so grossed out. He was treated just two weeks ago with advantix so Im not sure why it even stuck. Im keeping my fingers crossed he doesn't get lymes..:/

| Ticks are gross! I'm glad you found it and I hope your baby doesn't get lymes. I saw my first tick ever last week. I had fed the boys dinner, then was getting Calvin's eye boogies and saw something by his nose. I looked closer and thought I saw legs! My bf was on his way home from work, so when he got there I had him check. We googled how to remove a tick since he hadn't seen one before either. We weren't confident we could get it, so we went to the emergency vet and they removed it for us! It looked huge to me, but the vet said it was little and hadn't been there long, most likely less than a day. Ugh, it was gross! I'm also hoping he doesn't get lymes. I read about what symptoms to watch for just in case. |

| One tick...?! I'm sure you're fine lol. Here in Maryland, it's common to get dozens in a summer. Or at once like what happened to me and Jackson in Gettysburg. We had dozens of the stupid little things on us after walking through long grass in the battlefield. They ARE really gross though. Ticks need to be attached for at least 24 hours before they can transmit Lyme disease though.

| The tick is engorged. I have pulled one engorged one off of Teddy -- so yucky! Usually I find them faster because the boys try to scratch at them. I think you pupster will be fine.
