| ![]() Well Athena is home safe and sound and sleeping it off in her playpen. doc said she did fine. I asked 2000 questions, including what to do if pain meds dont work well enough. I held her for a little while to comfort her then put her to bed. Shes sleepy and pathetic, but so far seems as good as we would expect after any kind of surgery. april-21-2014 020.jpg |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | ![]() That's great news, so glad that she did well. Now just keep a close eye on her so that she doesn't chew her stitches. Even obsessive licking can cause them to come out. She'll be up in no time, playing and back to her old self. ![]()

she is doing real good today. Shes acting on the most part herself. she wants to play and stuff, but im keeping her separated from zeus, her playmate. I did have to discourage her from licking her stitches a couple times, but on the most part ( KNOCK ON WOOD) she seems to be leaving them alone so far, but im keeping a close eye on her. shes not happy about being kept contained in the kitchen and not being out with the rest of the pack ( human and 4 legged) but so far shes handling it pretty well all considered. We make sure we go in there and love on her and just sit with her often, and even when im not in there with her she can see us an we can see her to keep a close eye on her. We praise her and make sure she knows shes a good girl and not being punished. I took her outside without the other dogs this morning and she enjoyed just laying in the sun. she is eating and drinking really good today and using the bathroom. So so far all is good. | |
