| Pippi is getting spayed :/ She goes to get spayed on 4/14. I'm kinda scared tho Her brother ("Max") from the same litter was purchased by a friend so we get regular updates. She took him to get neutered & they had to stop surgery because his heart rate & oxygen dropped. We have the same vet & he is the same size as Pippi. I'm scared they're going to have the same problem with her Anyone have a very tiny yorkie that got successfully "fixed"?!

| Do they know why that happened to Max? Did you have pre-spay bloodwork done on Pippi? Do you know the type on anastesia your vet uses? How old is she? How big is she? It is very scary, my baby was spayed a few days ago and I spent half the day crying. |

| I agree with showgirllolas post about the pre-blood work and the anesthesia. Be sure to also to tell them about the problem he had so they can be aware there was a problem with a sibling. I wish you all the best on spay day.

| Contact the breeder you got your pup from. Did your vet say what the causative factor was with what happened to Max? It could be something the vet did or did not do, or it could be a birth defect on the puppy. You need to follow this up with the vet as well as the breeder. Be sure you remind the vet that Max and your Pippi are littermates. Be sure to get pre surgery bloodwork, Be sure they are using gas anesthesia and the person doing the anesthesia is knowledgable in how to monitor and administer it. |
