| Lost an (adult?) tooth I have no idea how or why it happened, but Lola lost her back fang tooth today. I'm pretty sure it's an adult tooth but I'm not 100% sure, I know she had a double fang tooth for awhile but I don't remember if it was the front or back fang. She's about a week shy of a year old, I brushed her teeth with my finger last night and didn't notice anything, she hasn't had any chewies today, didn't get hurt, and we weren't playing rough. The only hard things she's played with today are her JW butterfly early in the afternoon and her JW baseball (thick rubber). JW Play Place Butterfly Dog Chew Toy - Dog.com Around 8pm she was licking her lips or something and then around 11pm when I went to brush her teeth I noticed the tooth was hanging on by a thread. Does it look like an adult tooth or baby tooth? Do I need to take her to the vet, it looks like the whole thing came out. I'll defiantly mention it to the vet when I take her for her pre-spay blood work, I don't have an appointment yet. |

| The baby canines are skinnier and pointer than the adult tooth. If you take a look at the canine she has, does it look more rounded and blunt in comparison to the one that fell out? This is Sachi's before she got them extracted. On the upper, the baby is behind the adult. On the lower, the baby is on the outside. Hope that helps!

| I guess it was a baby tooth, silly me thought dogs had 2 fang teeth on top. She still has 2 on the other side. Lola's only my 5th dog I'll double check tomorrow to see if it looks like this was the baby tooth and not the adult tooth, she's sleeping right now. Your post did help, Thanks. It's weird before her adult fang was kind of on top of her baby fang, now it's next to it. |

| She really needs to have any double teeth that are still in there pulled. Stuff will get stuck between them and mess up the adult tooth as well as mess up the aligning of her teeth. Most people have this done when they get there pup spayed and neutered. Callie had to have her baby canines pulled as well as another baby tooth when she got spayed.
