| Hello everyone!! My sweet Yorkie Jayde is 9 weeks old. She is doing wonderful!! She is so playful and eats great! My only dilemma is I also have a 9 year old pug named Jasmine. Jasmine is a little piggy and it does not surprise me that she wants a bite of the puppy food, but my little puppy Jayde is wanting to eat Jasmine's food. I'm trying to monitor and make sure they eat their own food. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of a food that I could feed the both of them. My Jasmines food is a healthy weight formula because she is a little overweight. Thank you for any suggestions!!! |

| Hi, maybe feeding them in separate rooms might help? Puppies should eat puppy formula bc it has more calories, fat & calcium & things that puppies need for growth. Not going to help Jasmine's waist line if she eats Jayde's food! Loll

| ??? lol. Ignore this post. There are foods that are all life stages. Or just feed an adult food that has an appropriate amount of protein/fat. Compare/contrast the current puppy food she's on with some other foods and try to match up the protein/fat/calcium/phosphorus. Is your Pug active, healthy, in good shape? Pugs are so prone to weight gain, I like to keep them lean. So yes a puppy food could definitely make her eat more. It may be easiest just to feed separately.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I feed mine in separate bowls and stay there while they eat! They get the same food, but I have one that is a little piglet and I don't want her to eat more than her share!

| Thank you for all the advice! I have researched and decided on keeping their food separate and just really monitoring them. I slowly switched their foods to a better quality brand and they both love their new food so it's going well! Also, the foods look very similar since they are the same brand and Jasmine is staying in her bowl and Jayde in hers for the most part!! And to answer the question about my pug, she is fairly active and is getting a lot more exercise thanks to our sweet new puppy lol 😉. |
