| Best Daily Supplement for your dog? what do you use? I'm in the market for a daily supplement, and I was wondering what everyone here uses for their dogs. What have your Vets recommended? I have been suggested NuVet, but after doing some research on the brand I decided it did not have enough scientific evidence and trials to back up it's claims. So don't even recommend that one .. lol. |

YT 2000 Club Member | I don't give supplements. Your dog food should be balanced and provide all the necessary nutrients.....at least that is my opinion. When mine were very young, I used to give Pet Tabs by Virbac.

| I home cook for Katie, so I use BalanceIt to make sure that her meals are nutritionally balanced. That's only if home cooking is the largest percentage of their food intake. If you are feeding a good quality kibble, there shouldn't be a need to supplement. If I wasn't giving Katie BalanceIt, I would probably give her a supplement from Nature's Farmacy, but with home cooking it doesn't have enough calcium, and I'd need to check to see if her diet would be nutritionally balanced giving her that and added calcium. Katie is doing great on their Probiotic Max. I just recently purchased their joint formula to protect Katie's joints, but I haven't tried it yet. I have been really happy with their products, and so do and my friends who have tried their probiotics have seen a positive difference in their dogs' health. Ann (Wylie's Mom) recommended it to me, but I have also seen many positive reviews over the years on their supplements. DOGZYMES® Ultimate – 1 Pound » Natures Farmacy Inc. DOGZYMES® Probiotic Max – 8 Ounces » Natures Farmacy Inc.

| If you are interested in Nature's Farmacy, there is Nature's Farmacy West. The product lines are mostly the same. One is in Georgia, and the other is California. Dogzymes Puppy Pet Pack – Ex Small/Toy Breed » Natures Farmacy Inc.

| Unless you home cook or your dogs has a specific need for a supplement your dog should be getting all the vitamins it needs from there dog food. I give Callie Dosaquin for her LP and Omega 3 during her allergy season.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I feed raw too (but no kibble). If both the raw and kibble are AAFCO certified, the diet should be quite balanced. But if you want to give supplements, I always recommend Nature's Farmacy like Lisa mentioned above. I love their probiotics especially but they have lots of other supplements as well.

| My Schnauzer has skin problems and we got to the point of giving her steroids. She put on a lot of weight very fast. I heard about Dinovite and decided to give it a try. Her skin rash has cleared up really well and her fur is coming in much thicker than it ever had before. I give it to her every day along with some fish oil. Because Greta and Sparky eat out of the same bowl, he gets it, too. He seems to be doing great and his fur is very thick with a nice, healthy sheen to it. Just like Greta's! |
