| ![]() Surprisingly, they don't stink...it is fishy, but not that bad. Their breath doesn't smell fishy @ all. I do use old towels to cover their bed & wash it afterwards. THK has another fish treat called Wishes, that STINKS, it's super fishy loll!

I tried 2 types of Whimzees for my dogs , The Stix & The Toothbrush.. I do not like them.. They are very hard and when chewed , small sharp pieces break off.. It makes me so nervous.. I will NOT buy these again..

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() The Beams are AWESOME - all natural and safe. I get the 12" inch ones and cut them in 1/2 for Wylie and in 1/3rds for Marcel and Pfeiffer. They smell a bit fishy, of course, but they're worth it! I get mine on Amazon, or direct from Honest Kitchen. Also, have you tried CET chews yet? They are great for teeth as the contain dental chemicals. Size UP on these chews as the petite ones aren't safe bc of choking (the petites have a different texture/style than the other sizes; I now get the Mediums). Could also try RMBs (raw meaty bones) like Bison Back/Ribs from Whole Foods.

| ![]() UPDATE.... So...tried the whimzees gators~bought a 2 pack of the brown and green and the boys fought over the brown one and wouldn't touch the green. It reminded me a lot of the greenies in it's texture. I think those could easily break of in chunks. So..it's a NO GO on the whimzees!! Now, on to the Himalayan Chews!! Today, I bought the smallest ones that come in a 4 pack and I also bought the Yaky puffs. Thus far, the boys won't touch the chews. They are too big and bulky for them. I also am not super fond of the sharp edges. The Yaky puffs are a different story. They look like pork rinds. If they are thin enough, you can snap them in pieces. Thus far, Princeton will eat them if they are in small enough peices, but he's not chewing on them. Ricky prefers me not to break them up and he's treating it like a chew toy. I am going to have to watch him with them. I think they could choke him if I let them get small enough where he will try to swallow it whole... As long as they are big, i think he will just suck on it and chip off the edges. This definitely isn't a dentastix replacement for my older dog though...so we are still on the hunt!! I am fairly certain that we've tried the CET chews at my moms and it was a no go. I guess I will be ordering the Beams next!! LOL!! |

| ![]() PS~ I forgot to mention, that I did actually find something new for my little 4 lb guy!! They are made by Authority (Petsmarts Brand) and they are the Dental Puppy treats. They are long, thin round sticks that look like a straw and they call them puppy teething sticks. I have had a really hard time finding chews for my 4 lb dog. There are lots of treats that say they only for dogs 5lbs and up AND a lot of chew treats are just way to big for my little dogs mouth. These teething sticks don't have a weight limit on it, plus, since they are as small around as a straw, so they fit perfectly in my little guys mouth!! |

If they really don't like the chews but like the puffs you can turn the chews into puffs with the microwave.

Senior Yorkie Talker | ![]() I am a fan of bully sticks with no raw hide. Elk bones that have the marrow showing Bones that are stuffed with stuff. Carrots are good as well.

| ![]() So....I just bought the blue buffalo bones. IMO, they are a bit pricey at $18.00 a bag, but I got them at the Black Friday sale today for 1/2 off. Boy, do they stink!! IMO, they smell like molasses Thus far...nobody seems to be interested in the Blue Bones. Princeton, who's usually protective of the treats he likes, abandoned his bone and Ricky is sleeping on his. I also bought Zukes mini naturals in Salmon flavor and Prairie beef jerky dog treats. The boys weren't digging the Zukes, but they did give the Prairie Beef jerky 2 paws up!! So far....we still haven't found a good dentastick replacement. We will keep trying though... On a high note....the Prarie Beef jerky treats have glucosamine and chondroitin in it, which will be great for my older pup. I had already tried chewable glucosamine tabs and chewy bones with glucosamine in them and he didn't want to eat them. So, this is the first I've found that he will actually eat.
