| How much to feed my puppy I have a 13 weeks old puppy, he weighs about 4.5 lb. He was on Royal Canin dog food and I am now switching over to Blue Buffalo (for puppy). Per the instruction in the back of the package, for puppy 3-5 mon in age and from 3-20 lb I should feed 1/3-1 1/4 cup per day. Right now I'm giving him about 2/3 cup per day and he seems to be hungry all the time. He is not fat, but weighs around 4.5lb and that is pretty big for 13 weeks. If he is bigger or bigger bone than other yorkie puppies, should I feed him more, maybe 1 1/4 cup a day? It's hard to aim since the instruction said I could also feed a 20 lb puppy 1/3-1 1/4 cup the same amount. Thanks |

| I will usually split Peanut’s meals. For instance the food he is on calls for him to get a total of ¼ of a cup. He will get 1/8 in the morning and a 1/8 in the evening when I come home from work Some days I will add another ½ in there- If he is hungry he will eat it and sometimes he doesn't. I think splitting the meal is a great option. Once he is use to the food you will be able to tell how much he will eat, how much he should eat, and how much you can give him.. you just have to watch them and measure always!! Since he is still a puppy he should be more hungry, he is still growing and I’m sure more active.
