| 17wk. old Yorkie, thin hair legs and above tail This is my first post and I have had my baby Izzy Bella for about a week. She would have been from a pet store, but in a round about way. I have a customer who works part time at Pet Land on the weekends for the extra money. She worries about their care and spends extra time loving the new babies. Izzy Bella came in at 6 weeks with 2 litter mates on a Wednesday and by the time my friend got there on Saturday the 2 litter mates had died. Izzy Bella and a maltese where in a box to go to the vet to be put down. She said NO and took them home for extra TLC. Within 3 weeks the maltese had a clear bill of health and Izzy Bella was going longer periods of time without worry of hypoglycemia (sp?). She was released by the pet store because of lack of hair on the legs and above the tail and the hair on her body is thinner than the others you see the same age. They didn't want to wait for her to be beautiful. She does not itch or scratch, eats Nutro can food (what she was already eating), sleeps thru the night and loves to go to work with me. Potty training is going well and listening seems to optional at this point. She is the most wonderful thing I have ever seen and she snuggles so good. She is now 17 weeks and about 19 ounces. Any ideas on diet, hair? Thanks to everyone...this site is wonderful. Bitty Izzy Bella's Momma |

| oh my what a sad but wonderful story, so glad your little one is safe and loved. I would suggest feeding her the nutro mixed with dry Royal Canin baby puppy food mixed. You want to get her on to a quality dry mixed into the canned not only for the nutrients but for her teeth, I am sure she is teething now, she needs that extra help loosing the baby teeth. I would feed her at least 4 times a day tiny meals. Also on occasion add cottage cheese or live culture yogurt (plain or vanilla) which will help with her calcium. Once she gets on a good diet her hair should grow natually unless of course she is a red legged which has a sparser coat. Post a picture of your baby when you can that would help. Bless you and your friend for not giving up on these two little kids, giving them a wonderful life and homes.

| Congratulations on saving a life! She sounds like such a sweet thing and you are a doll to adopt her. There are supplements you can add to her food to improve her coat. I would love to see a picture of your baby. Congratulations and welcome to YT. Love her name by the way!! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | OMG.... how horrible...this is exactly the reason we are down on pet store puppies and puppy mill suppliers. What a wonderful person your friend is for rescuing these two little babies. You will both be rewarded with all the pleasure and love these little ones will give to you. I would be sure and give her a little Nutrical between feedings in order to avoid hypoglycemia and keep her warm. Poor little thing. We would love to see her picture when you can take one, she sounds precious. Much good luck with her.

| Pictures.... These are the best of all the pictures I took that show what I am talking about...there is black peach fuzz above the tail and there is some tan/cream hair on her legs. She is nonstop and knows no fear. Hard to believe since she was near dead the first time I saw her. thanks for any help you could give.... Bitty Izzy Bella's Momma |

She is totally precious and adorable and you are a good and caring Mama, so in time she will get better. I do not know if others here will agree, but if she can tolerate it and not get an upset stomach it would help her coat improve if you give her a boiled egg yolk daily in addition to her regular food. Have you taken her to be checked by a vet ? Poor little baby....how totally sad her beginnings.... She is so lucky to be found and taken in by you.

| What a precious little baby...I'll just bet her hair will grow back in a few months..probably fell out for lack of love and good care It isn't uncommon for that to happen when a dog is undernourished and stressed. God bless you for taking her in and please keep us updated on her progress She is truely adorable!!!

| Went to the Vet this morning... Stress and diet...He saw no need to do a skin test and said all she needs is TLC and good food. The areas all have peach fuzz and no itching so we are good to grow...hehe Izzy Bella's Momma |

| My female hair on her back got real thin and they did a skin scrape and fouund nothing wrong. It did grow back in and now she has a thick adult coat. I think her hair will grow in just fine. She really didnt look that thin haired to me.
