But remember if you pick her up when she barks she will start to do it all the time when SHE want up lol. With her coat. It is just preference if you want puppy cut or long coat. With a long coat you have to brush at least once a day. If not they get matted. A lot of people pick the puppy cut because it is easily manageable. She is adorable.

| She looks just like my little Zoey! She is now 5 months and weighs 2.04 lbs. Won't get very big. You asked about the eyes in an earlier post. I got some eye cleansing pads at pet store that really help. Did you say you have other dogs. Do they seem to upset her? My little one has her own area but wants to be near me. I condition her every day by going to different parts of the house out of her sight , or leaving for short periods of time. She needed a place to relieve herself in the night so she stayed in her pen. Now she is older she prefers to sleep in her cage beside my bed. In the night she will whimper when she has to pee and I get up to let her pee then take her back to bed. Now that she is older it"s with ME! They love to snuggle in! Get a waterproof baby crib sheet at first or a small kennel sherpa pad to lay down beside you. You will really get to know her much better and she will love it! |

| Oh my goodness, she is so tiny and adorable! I have to hand it to you owners that have these tinies, you are so brave. Gunner is 2.6 at 12 weeks and he makes me nervous. We had company yesterday for the first time since we got him, one of the guys picked him up and I darned near had a heart attack. From now on I tell everyone to pet him but don't pick him up. She is such a beauty, keep her safe!

| Welcome to YT. My Rosie is 9 months old and weighs 2.8 lbs. While that isn't like...super scarily tiny...I still consider it pretty dang small considering my other yotkie is almost 8 lbs. I never intended to get such a small dog. My girls are from the same parents, different litters and Rosie was not the smallest if the group. I am still kinda convinced she will get as big as Luma one day but seeing as she is 9 months old and not even 3 lbs...so I have to constantly remind myself that I have to handle them differently. I can't play as rough with Rosie as with Luma. She requires constant feeding to ward off hypoglycemia. I mostly carry her instead of letting her get under our feet. She is my special needy baby, but I love her all the same. The little ones really are like a permanent puppy, but that comes at a price. I would honestly much rather have a big yorkie than a tiny.

| It is interesting reading about the difference in the care of the tinies. I saw an episode of "It's me or the dog" with Victoria Stillwell where the owner of a tiny chi never put her down because she was scared she would break if she jumped from anything and Victoria was teaching her how to let her "be a dog" but safely (still no jumping). I see now why the owner never put her down. It is obviously a great responsibility to own one so small. My last dog was over 100lbs at one point. Huey weighs 8-8.5 lbs and I'm pretty convinced that I would not be as happy with one so tiny (or maybe just as happy but in a different way) as we love to play with Huey, throwing the toys, chasing him around, laughing at the zoomies...My cousin has a 4 pounder but she is across the country so Huey and Buffy have only met once, but she was tiny next to him! She pretty much stayed tucked in her crate while Huey ran amuck. I love the pic of Bama next to the remote! It only accentuates the difference in size...here is Huey's remote pic-but it is on his 3rd birthday...he weighed approx 7.5 lbs here - over 3 times the weight of Bama! And I thought he was tiny!

| YorkieTalk Newbie! | I don't let anyone hold my yorkie...my Bella squirmed one time and fell out of the arms of my friend who was holding her and fractured her tiny arm...my Bella was tiny too when I first got her ...she's one year and weighs 5 lbs...congrats on your baby..trust me your yorkie will steal your heart...my baby sleeps with me every night and goes with me everywhere..sometimes I sneak her to work too just so she won't be alone at home...lol |
