| Healthy Snacks? Hi! I am wondering if anyone gives their pups snacks in between meals? Stella was just spayed and since she has gotten home she struggled for a few days with diarrhea. We have gotten that under control and I am not feeding her pumpkin with each meal, but it seems that she is hungry in between meals. I don't want her to become overweight...but I also want her to feel that she has had enough to eat. When she smaller she never had this issue. She would sometimes never want to eat in the morning or in the evening, but now she is really hungry at each meal. She struggled with diarrhea a bit when she was little, but then I switched her food. She eats blue buffalo. She never gets table scraps. I don't allow her to get anything besides what I feed her at home, so when she goes other places, she cannot eat any other treats, etc. I just like to make sure her sensitive belly does not get upset and stays on track. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks

| I don't think you need to worry about her gaining weight bc she's only 6 months old. She should be getting as much as she wants to eat for her age since she's still growing (follow the instructions on the bag of her food). Weight is something to worry about when they reach 6-7 years old, some dogs start packing on the #'s. As far a treats, I stopped buying store bought treats a long time ago. My guys will occasionally get cage free egg whites pan fried in coconut oil, veggies of all kinds (no onions), they esp like frozen thawed green beans. Fruits like apples (no grapes), baked sweet potatoes. Many people dehydrate & make their own fruits, sweet potatoes & chicken jerkies for dogs. I want to get a dehydrator for Christmas!
