Origen is a good food but not so much for little dogs. If your dog is doing well on RC and likes it why change it!

| I'm one of those who has just changed from royal canin to orijen (currently orijen 6 fish). It's really a good dog brand. His poo sometimes is rather soft but mostly good. With royal canin his poo was always good but he continued licking his paw and vomiting yellow when he has no mood to eat for 12-15 hrs. This problem stopped with orijen there were two times already when he had no mood to eat for continuously 24 hours. No vomiting. However, pay totally attention to how much you give. Even give it less if you think you need to give less. The feeding suggestion for 5 kg (my yorkie) is 60-75 gr per day but so far I give him only 50gr to keep his poo firm. As they said, with the high protein included, it is better to adjust the portion day by day based on each dog's needs. If the food is really good, usually giving our dog less wont cause problem, instead, they usually have less hunger..

| My Yorkie is back to RC as well. Right now he's on RC Yorkie 28. When I got him, he was on RC. I was determined to find him great quality food. Unfortunately, after going through so many... I'm back to RC. I've tried... Orijen - Soft stool Blue Buffalo - STINKY poo and farts a lot (very stinky as well) Go! - Oily coat ACANA puppy - did okay on it, but he's not a puppy anymore RC Yorkie puppy - did well, no particular issues/problems ACANA adult - slightly itchy skin Taste of the Wild - increased eye discharge ACANA lamb & apple - refuse to eat (because kibble size is too large for him?) So... I gave up and decided to go with RC Yorkie 28. Many people advocate against it and all... But my furbaby loves it, and he does well on it. So I'm happy. I think it's all down to what is the best for your yorkie since they react to different foods differently. |

| YT 2000 Club Member | I was feeding Buffalo and now am feeding Wellness. I called my poodle breeder who's husband is a vet. She feeds her show poodles Wellness Super 5 mix. I bought this food and am now feeding it to the Yorkies. They seem to like it. Some people like the R.C. It is not a real high quality food but if your dog does well on it I would stay with it. |

This is Exactly what I am feeding! Best of the Best in my opinion... Awesome Company! They don't need to eat As Much... and if they are fed too much, they can end of up with soft poo...

| I wish RC had non-chicken proteins as their main meat (that's not an RX food). Jackson has always had bigger poop and runnier eyes on any primarily chicken-based food. But, I just ordered a 2.5lb bag on Chewy.com. I needed to get the $49 for free shipping and the bag was on sale for like $13 (usually in stores it's like almost $18, which is too expensive IMO for a 2.5lb bag, but with only one dog I don't want to purchase the bigger sizes). He has been mostly eating Acana Duck and Pear because he's always done the best on that but I always like to give other foods a chance. I do really like the company. If anything, we will use the kibbles as treats for his interactive toys, puzzles, etc.

| Good morning; I'm a newbie, but have posted a few times, mostly to do with diet and holistic health. Sorry, I'm not sure how to insert the comment I wanted to speak to. ![]() My yorkies eat Orijen and they do very well on it. I also mix in cooked organic chicken and then at their evening meal will add a little bit of organic veg. I would also like to make the switch to raw, but to date just give them raw on Friday mornings when I'm off. What I do know about raw and kibble is that they should not be mixed as they digest at a different rate. Raw will digest in about 4 hours and kibble in 8. For this reason, I give raw in the am and then Orijen at night. The other food item they get daily is tripe, but only a couple of teaspoons as it's the best way to get vitamins and probiotics into them. Food glorious food |

| YT 2000 Club Member | Speaking about dog food, My Spud threw up his food again. He gets the Wellness Super 5 mix Healthy weight. I went on line and found other people complaining of the same thing. Now what! I am going to take him off of that food. I thought wellness was the answer but he didn't chew the kibble and now he is on rice and chicken again. What is good food for Yorkies? |

| My pup eats raw one meal and then Orijen or Acana, depending on what I have bought, the next meal. Seems to like Orijen more. Here is an Orijen "White Paper" which has some Great information: http://files.championpetfoods.com/OR...hite_Paper.pdf |

| I have been using Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier 28 and she seems to really like it - the pieces are small and seem to be softer so she can eat it - she's only 5 lbs, so she's pretty tiny. She seems OK on it so far. I hope so because I bought a giant bag of it. The first ingredient is chicken meal (prob not totally meat huh?) then brown rice, chicken fat, corn gluten meal (bad), barley, wheat gluten (bad), dried beet pulp, fish oil, yeast, then a bunch of vitamins. |

| My Zoey absolutely stopped eating wellness for puppies after 1 1/2 bags. I topped it with everything I could think of over time, during this time I was researching all the dog foods and wanted a line that never has had a recall. I'm not gonna open that can of worms but decided on Fromm duck. Took my baby to the Pet Boutique and the owner let her try different flavors to see if she showed interest and low an behold she was eating kibble again.and her poo poo is a lot less fragrant too.... Good luck... |
