| Tails are usually docked at 3-5 days old! If it has been 3 weeks and the tail is still not healed, there is a problem....it must have gotten infected, and if the puppy did not get treatment for an infection, there could possibly be some continuing issues with bacterial infection that has possibly affected internal organs. Also, the pups immune system has not been able to fight off this healing issue......you need much more information about this....did the baby ever get vetted for the docked tail? Was the baby on antibiotics? I would not only be uncomfortable with the breeder, I would worry about the over all health of this baby, and would probably select another baby from another breeder, unless I got clear, medical documentation about what is going on with that docked tail. |
