Peanut is at the Vet Hi Guys, On Friday I had my lower back nerve ablation- for my chronic back pain. I have been down ever since. I’m back to work and barely making it. I just might have to leave, I don’t think I can sit in this chair all day long. Anyways remember Peanut’s bump on his ear thread.. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...anuts-ear.html Well that first one is going away, however a new one has popped up! Same thing, so I dropped him off so the vet can look at it. He needs his anal’s and nails trim anyways. Poor thing- Peanut was all excited to go bye-bye this morning.. He was not happy I left him. Hopefully I get good news, hopefully it is nothing as I think it is. I will let you all know what he says. |
Sending positive thoughts for Peanut that his bump is nothing. I hope you feel better soon. How is nerve ablation performed? |
I hope it's nothing serious with Peanut, Deanna. Is this your first ablation treatment? I used to get them in my neck and always found the first couple of days afterwards were hellacious, then it would get better. I hope you start to feel better soon. |

Well from what I remember ( they gave me an IV with drugs LOL) They stick these needles in the area then they start a spark and it burns the nerves LOL. They do the procedure using the cat scan xray machine so it can guide the Dr where he needs to be. |

Yes it is. I've had the steroid injections and they didn't work. The Dr is only thinking I will get 50% pain free out of this procedure- which sucks, but 50 is better than 0. You know what is strange, Sat/ Sun I really didn't hurt. I thought I was going to be in the clear. Then I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and I could barely squat down. Then I hear a crack, I thought to myself.. oh great. I woke up in horrible pain, can barely bend over- hurts like hell now. Do you still get them or don’t need them? |
I don't get them anymore. I was being treated for something called reflexive sympathetic disorder and the maximum number of treatments recommended for it was 5. If it hasn't worked by then, it's not going to. Now they are talking about using an implantable TENS unit in my neck. I'd rather avoid more surgery! |
i hope you are feeling better soon and I hope everything is ok with peanut. |
Awww Deanna get well soon, and Peanut too! Darn ear bump...hopefully it's nothing. Don't worry too much mama. Praying for both of you. |
I hope you feel better soon and that Peanut's bump turns out to be nothing to worry about. |
I hope both you and Peanut are feeling better! |

You have too much going on right now! The gorgeous flooring will be worth inconvenience of the past week. |
Oh I hope Peanut is better soon. I hope you feeling better soon as well. Back problems are no fun. Take it easy and go home from work if you have to and get some rest. |
Praying for YOU and Peanut! |
One of the tech’s just called me. The vet has looked at the little bumps and he has confirmed they are from a clogged oil gland. I guess they come and go. I asked her to have him write down the name, so I will have that information later. I asked if there is anything I can do to prevent them and she said not really. As long as he is getting bathed and brushed there isn't really much you can do. She is going to confirm with the Vet to see.. I’m going to start to brush him more, since I get him shaved I really don’t brush him.. his hair is cut pretty short like ¼ of an inch LOL. I do still bathe him, so I will just start brushing him daily see if that helps. I’m sure brushing will help stimulate the skin, pores and all that good stuff. I’m just glad it is nothing serious, I knew it wasn’t but we all know how it is- they are our babies~ Thank you all for the support.. I’m still trying to truck it at work. |

So glad to hear Peanut just has a clogged oil gland. Maybe you can try the derma roller everyone's raving about in that skin care thread ;) Just kidding!! I also have 5 herniated discs in my back, so I totally feel your pain. I've been getting epidural injections for years. I'm actually interested in that procedure you're having now. I've tried all kinds of crazy treatments for my back, but I haven't heard about that one. I might have to PM you about that. Feel better!! |
Im so sorry you are in so much pain I wish there was something I could do to take it away. Im keeping you in my good thoughts and prayersand hope the pain eases up soon. Im glad Peanuts bumps ended up being nothing serious |
I am glad it was nothing serious with Peanut. I know our babies are everything. You do need to take it easy. Back problems are not fun. I hope the procedure works for you. Fingers and Lots of paws crossed here |
Really glad to hear that Pnut is ok. Now you get better!! |
Glad to see it wasn't anything serious with Peanut. I think brushing him will help, too. I know massaing the scalp on a person helps, so can't hurt right? And, you get some extra bonding time :) Feel better! |

I'm so glad to hear it isn't anything serious with Peanut. Man I love that little guy so much and now a days we see a bump or a lump and it is hard for us not to think the C word.. Thank you guys for the good thoughts and prayers. I hope this works out for me too. I hate being in pain 24/7 I can’t even play with my niece who I love so much without hurting. I hate it. It is so hard to say what the outcome will be since everyone is so different.. Hopefully I get some relief. |
