Donating YT 500 Club Member | Are your allergy babies hot? So, hello. I have a question for Mums with wee allergy babies. Is their skin hot all the time? Alfie's skin is always very, very warm, always has been. I have worried sometimes that he has a temp due to an infection. I have asked my Vet and Vet Derm about it and they weren't concerned as when they take his temp it is normal (I hate for him to get that, he don't like it so much) but as it has been one in a long list of questions every visit I have not asked is this down to his allergies. I am getting a bit concerned now that if he does start to get an infection and fever, how will I know? (I mean early detection, not waiting until he is not eating and pooping, and so well before the throwing up and almost unconscious situation) I know i need to take his temp! So other than the very intrusive rectal thermometer temp taking method, are there any alternatives? Do any of the skin baby products work? If not top business idea - invent a non rectal dependable temp kit for all animals.

| My Daisy doesn't get hot. Maybe Alfie would like some cool compresses?

| Callie never seams to be hot unless she is running around outside when its hot. They make doggy ear thermometers and I have one you just kinda point at a certain area and it takes the temp.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Interesting you asked this bc I was just wondering this the other day. Wylie has allergies certain times of the year and at times his body feels SO hot to the touch, even though he hasn't been playing. I think it's a histamine / allergy response.
