End of Heat (almost), perked up alot but still standoffish at times Hi all! So glad to report that the bleeding portion of the heat cycle is down to just above spotting. We went on vacation for a week and a half (decision made before we adopted her) so she stayed with my cousin and aunt. (they fell in love and tried to keep her lol) Anyways, I could have cried at how excited she was to see us when we returned...OMG...she went bonkers when she saw us come through the door to pick her up. She ran back and forth between my husband, my daughter and I. We were worried that she'd care less about us when we came home. Good news is that was Sunday and as of today (Wednesday) the bleeding is to a very limited amount and she's been very perky out of the blue at times. Running back and forth to the 3 of us giving lots of kisses but then there are times when she's alone in a corner or acting as if she hears or sees something. I know her hearing is keen but I live in a very quiet area so I'm not sure what's alerting her. Does anyones Yorkie go into deep investigation mode out of the blue...sniffing around the house...walking back and forth, looking up at the ceiling? LOL...it's almost funny to watch. I know when she hears other dogs or airplanes because she'll run to the steps where she can hear out of both the windows and the bathroom skylight. I know i'm kind of all over the place but i guess what i'm asking is do your Yorkies get into a mood where they don't want to be bothered, sometimes doesn't want to eat (she will eat at least once a day however) and also heavily investigate things? (she's such the chicken when someone comes in the door however..lol)

When the bleeding stops, does not mean her heat cycle is over!!!! It means she is ovulating and is very fertile.....this is when most accidental breedings take place!!

Yup, I'm aware. That's why I said "So glad to report that the bleeding portion of the heat cycle is down to just above spotting."

Are you able to comment on the issues that I've posted? Has your dog gone through a heat cycle and displayed the same things?
