Baby MIA...shes coming home

It is unfair and unconscienable to take a 6 week old teacup yorkie from the mother to a home. the puppy is way too young and hypoglycemia and other health issues may be a big risk. I am sure the breeder would keep the puppy with the mother until 12 weeks old. It will be a big mistake to take that puppy home.

I just wouldn't take a dog that young. No breeder is going to force a puppy on me at that age! Young puppies belong with their mother being imprinted and cared for in the peace and comfort of the birth home so that pup can ge the maximum good start it needs in life.

Get and do all the above, and PLEASE take her to your vet as soon as you can after you get her. They should have suggestions on what to do, what signs to watch for, and give her a general health check. You MIGHT have to learn how to syringe feed, the vet should show you how and tell you how much to feed her.( and give you syringes just incase) She's so very young. Please let keep us updated on her.

Theres a little bit more to this tho the reason why she is anxious to rid of her pups... I was hoping i could get some other helpful advice to help sooth her transition ... Like maybe sticking a big stuffed dog next to her that has a lil heartbeat built inside it mite help sooth her at nite ... Just an example ... But being most of you seem well educated about yorkies i was looking for some educational advice ... About soothing ... And making this as stress free as possible for Mia ...
My only concern is helping her , nuture her , and love her into a healthy yorkie

Sorry I am two days late in seeing this. Buy a papoose the one that goes around your chest. Keep her with you 24 7. Feed at least every two hours. Gums always should be pink and moist. Pale and Dry dehydration immediate trip to the vet and vet or Emergency because it is.

Lots of water available all the time. She can not regulate her body temperature yet, unless she is a very large say 3lb or so 6wk old.

Mash and heat up gently her food. Hand feed her if necessary. They can't take too much food in at one time. A tablespoon full or so.

Do NOT GIVE her any more shots until at least 12wks old - having had shots at 6wks old should be criminal but isn't....

You will need to teach bite aversion, socialization to other dogs and ppl.

2)Mia is coming with her 1st set of shots and deworming, what age aprox is she due for her second?
3)I have been told keep a thing of honey on hand for her cause she is prone to hypoglycimia....is the honey thing true? if so how much ?
4) I bought her a playpen, puppy bed, a teddy bear from a store that has a heart beat in it to sooth and comfort her at nite so she thinks its moms, heating pad as well, some soft food and royal canin ...is there anything else i should get to prepare her for her welcome home ...
5) if she does not eat much should i help her by feed her lil bits at a time, and if she doesnt drink much should i be helping her maybe with a dropper or a bottle? cause i do know sometimes pups loose there appetite during stressful times and being taken away from mom and sibblings cant be easy on her.
6)and being mom isnt around to bath her anymore when is a good time to start bathing her? what type of shampoo ( BABY shampoo ok?)or no...

I so appreciate any feedback i could possibly get ...im so excited for my baby to come home but a lil scared and nervous shes so tiny...but like bring home my preemie 2 months early...my motherlys instincts will come out...and we tend to nurture and love our babies to healthy years to come ...

I don't want to rain on your parade and I souly just want to educate you on facts...here in America puppies do not recieve their first set of vaccinations until 8 weeks, then 12, then the final at 16. Puppies are still learning so much from their mom through 12 weeks. I had Miley stay until 13 weeks which my breeder preferred. Mia has to learn things like bite inhibition and socialization which all come from her mother. I'm not sure what vets you have in Canada but that doesn't seem right. I'm still so excited to see yor Mia and I know you will take excellent care of her! Congratulstions!!

Everywhere it's different. Both Nena and Rufus got their first shots when they were 6 weeks old. That's how they do it here. Then when I got them, I had to take them for their 2nd and 3d.
I got my pups at 8 weeks because that's how they do it here.

I wanted to keep everyone updated Baby Mia is home with us and doing very very well!!!! Shes eating really good drinking and playing ... Believe it or not! Shes very healthy, i am eager to let keep u all posted and thank u for all the helpful advice and ill be using all the advice everyone has said and given thank you everyone !!!
I know just because shes healthy now doesnt mean im in a clear ... I just thought u would all like to know how she is adjusting !!! Im updating her photos for u to take a peak ... Especially for all the friends who have given me helpful advice !!!
