Donating YT 30K Club Member | I've never seen one on any of my dogs. Hmm could it be a little hernia? I'll be intersted to see if anyone else has a dog with a belly button.

Oh my! There has a tiny lil lump about three inches up from where her spay incision would be, right in the center. I can't see anything on the surface of her skin, but I feel a tiny spot under her skin. Is that her belly button???

I have never noticed any kind of belly button marking on my boys. Will look closer tonight. I don't want to alarm you, but is the doctor sure that is his belly button? Seems rather large for one, but I didn't know dogs had them in the first place.

| Ellie has an outie! It was cleared by her vet. Make sure it isn't a hernia...

| It is probably just fatty tissue that got trapped when the umbilical was closing. This article will explain it. Just keep an eye on it and if it does get any bigger then you will need to talk to the vet about it. Years ago I had a puppy that the vet and I thought she had a hernia but when he went in to do the surgery he discovered it was just trapped fatty tissue and not a true hernia. Umbilical Hernias
