| Don't worry Marie, I had the same exact experience with Coco. I got her spayed and the incision spot, though tiny, started getting bigger. Underneath the skin it felt like there was something there. I talked to vets and others and now after 4 months since her surgery the scar and bump is ALLLLL gone. It just needed some time to heal. I was also so worried but I was assured it was just scar tissue. I'm sure every pup takes their own time to heal. Coco's took about 3-4 moonths for the bump to completely disappear. I can't even see where it was anymore.

| Marie, if its scar tissue, you should be able to roll the skin between your fingers and feel that the bump is on the skin and not something internal. I've never had a hernia, but my brother and hubby both did and they were in pain. Does Gucci seem to be hurting? Even if it is scar tissue the fact that its getting bigger would concern me.

| Sherry Lynn, The bump seems to move and she doesn't seem in any pain. I took some pics so you can see. It hasn't gotten any bigger, but I think is pretty big and im worry. I called the vet and her appt is for the 27. My apologies that he hair being so while, I havent being able to give her a good grooming cause I have bing sick. I have brushed her but not as good. I might take her to the groomers just for a basic cut, just nails and private. |

| Marie, this is what Annie's "bump" looked after she had her spay... It was completely normal for a month after the surgery and then out of nowhere grew to something of that size. In time it did go away. I'll be honest with you I can't remember how long it was. But it did go away. I guess that it was some sort of "scar tissue" as the vets had said. I guess it just seemed odd to me cause it wasn't there and then all of a sudden it just popped up. But to ease your mind, just take Gucci to vet to get it checked out. I don't know anything about hernias... But that looks alot like the bump that popped up out of nowhere for Annie... |

| Oh Marie, I hope Gucci's okay, the vet will be able to tell you if it's just scar tissue. She'll be okay

| I hope it is scar tissue but I am concerned that it got bigger? Seems like scar tissue would dissolve. Sometimes they develope a hernia at the spaying site b/c that area is fragile until it heals completely. It isn't serious but I know what you mean about not wanting her to go through surgery again. I am sorry you can't get an answer until the 27 b/c the worrying is going to be the worst part It will help you to know what you are dealing with and be able to make plans. If a surgery is in her future I hope you can postpone it until something like teeth cleaning is due. Let us know how this turns out. best wishes |

| Gosh, that does look like a big bump. I am NOT an expert--in fact, I am the opposite--but that does not look like scar tissue to me. Maybe you can into the vet a little sooner? |

| My feeling is that it is an incisional hernia. It would be soft and when you take one finger and gently push and move your finger around a WEE bit, you would be able to "reduce" it. That is it will push back thru the small rent or hole in the abdominal wall. If those things happen, it would be my bet that she has a hernia. Was there extra surgery done besides spaying. The scar looks really long to me, but that is just my opinion. I would take her to the vet who did the surgery and get an explanation from him.. |
