| Bella's Ear Infection After Grooming Took Bella for a grooming for the third time to this same groomer. I asked the groomer to keep the ear hair short, NOT pluck out hair inside the ear. Well, she plucked every hair out. Three days later Bella's head was tilted to the side and her balance was off. Looked like something neurological. I took her to the vet twice since & her ear canal was enlarged. The first time the inside of her right ear was so swollen he was unable to look into the ear drum and could not even prescribe antibiotic, only a steroid injection to take the inflammation down. Two days later I brought her back and he sent us home with an ear wash & antibiotic ear drops. I hope she'll be okay.. So worried. I can't imagine how painful it was to have all the hair plucked at once. Did anybody have a similar experience ? My vet does not believe in plucking ear hair unless it's laiden with debris, in that case only a few hairs at a time, not to suffer pain. |

| Oh, poor baby. I would take her back to the groomer and show her what happened to you little one. Then I would find a new groomer. Lesson learned for the groomer hopefully.

| Hi and Welcome to YT! Swelling and infection can happen when the ear is dirty. Plucking then allows a pathway for bacteria to take hold. I think most groomers do it all at once. But, now that it's done, keep up with it as hair in the ear can trap dirt and wax, causing infection also.
