| Allergies- at my wits end! :( HELP! I'm sorry if this has been discussed before but the search function isn't working on my phone. My little guy gets SO irritated when the weather starts to get hot. I've tried EVERYTHING. Looking for new suggestions. He licks his anus & by his tail non stop during summer. We've tried: Releasing anal glands Cortisone shots Prednisone Benadryl Changed his foods Flea meds Multiple shampoos Multiple anti-itch sprays Adding omegas to his food And I'm sure there's more that I can't think of. I was relieved because he had a little break during winter but now its starting to get warmer its getting worse again. The crazy thing is that it really just started to get bad this past summer. Chewie will be 6 in July. |

| Atopica scares me. The side effects seem a little intense. I've read a lot of reviews & experiences with it that sound horrifying. |

| A lot of pups do very well with it. Yup, there are some serious side effects but it is a great drug and is healthier than steroids long term.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | My Cali has been on Atopica for 6 years with no problems. She also has mild MVD and still has been fine. I get her blood work done every year. She needed a short term (2 weeks) regiment when she went on it due to some side effects but after that she has been fine. I have weaned her down to 1 pill a week from 1 a day. She is having no scratching even with cutting her down to 1 a week. It was such a relief to get her scratching under control. I hope this helps.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh that poor guy . I would try Atopica ASAP! It's a life changer for so many allergy dogs...including my little Marcel who is only 4lbs - it changed his life during allergy season. He used to wake up at 2am just to lick/chew his paws bc he was so irritated. After Atopica, never happened again. He still may have a few breakthru symptoms once in a while, but they're mild and tolerable. Btw, Marcel has not had a single side effect from Atopica. When quality of life starts being affected like w/ your kiddo, it's really time to try all available meds. You don't want him to be miserable like this.

| Have you tried Allergy testing ? There are a few people on YT who did the testing & swear by it as their pups were helped greatly from it. |

YT 500 Club Member | I would like to suggest switching her food to Canine Caviar I had the same problem with Dolly and once I switched to canine Caviar the itching stopped all together. I ordered mine from Chewy.com also check out Canine Caviar website Good luck |

| I had a Shihtzu that had allergies so bad. Vet said worst he'd seen! We did allergy test and then shots with no luck. Her main problem was chicken? It is in most feed. When I finally figured that out and got her on rabbit it helped. |
