| Shedding puppy coat? Quick question......I know that adult Yorkie's do not shed, but do puppies shed their puppy coat? Cooper had a loose tuft of fur last night, and he just went to the vet last week so I know he's healthy. He doesn't have any bald spots, just the tuft of fur that came out when I brushed him. I'm wondering if this is normal or if he might be having an allergic reaction to his food. Thanks in advance for your help.

| I'm not sure. I'm sure someone who knows will be able to help.

| Thanks, Terri. I was hoping that was the case since I know other dogs do shed their puppy coats. I feel so much better now!

| I've never seen a Yorkie shed like that. All of mine just slowly grew out the dark hair and for a while it looked like they had regrowth from dyeing their hair If he is healthy, just keep an eye on him to monitor the regrowth. Hair loss can be a symptom of many things.

Senior Yorkie Talker | As long as the food you giving is not salty, I think it is the natural process. I didn't get to see the transformation as my puppy only came at 8 months old ;(
