YT 2000 Club Member | Boiled Chicken as a replacement? Teeka has been on a chicken and rice diet and she loves it so much. So I was wondering if you think adding boiled chicken to their dry food is a good idea? I would reduce the amount of dry and just add the chicken. Is boiled chicken a good replacement for some of their food? I usually add canned BB Freedom. Opinions, please!

| I add about 1 tsp shredded to each meal just to entice my pup to eat his food. All my dogs love the bit of chicken I add. Since it is so small it doesn't replace much. |

| I think you'll be okay if you're just adding a little chicken. You have to start worrying about supplements when 1/3 or more of their diet is coming from human food. I boil a chicken breast every few days & cut it up to use as treats. If I have some leftover in the fridge that's going to spoil soon, I shred it up & add it to their food.

YT 2000 Club Member | Ok, so just a small amount is fine. I don't want to spoil their diet of dry kibble but wanted to add some boiled chicken in place of their canned. I really appreciate the feed back!

| Just don't spoil little Teeka like I spoiled my Yoshi! Since I gave him chicken when he was a pup, he started ALWAYS expecting chicken. Now I have a horrible time trying to get him to eat plain kibble. It's my own fault, I know. I'm definitely not going to do that when Prima comes home. I'm actually hoping that Prima will help Yoshi out with his "eating disorder". Live & learn...

YT 2000 Club Member | Oh, maaan.... I don't want to create a monster! She eats her kibble so well but since she has been sick and having to eat chicken & rice, I hope she will go back to her dry kibble. Tomorrow is the day she goes back to her regular diet.

| I didn't mean to scare you! Maybe Yoshi & Georgie are just stubborn little boys. Lol. If you're okay with giving her chicken with her kibble every meal, then that's fine! There's nothing wrong with a little extra yummy protein. She deserves it anyway

| I agree with Teresa (stubborn boys and that Teeka deserves it). I just add a little to Georgie's meals and he gobbles it up

| Peanut is just getting over being sick- he had a little tummy bug. I have been only giving him boiled chicken soaked in water.. finally yesterday evening he ate his dry!!! I didn't know what I was going to come home to so I had already bought him 2 boneless leaned chicken breast- When I noticed he ate his dry I was super excited, so because of that I still made the chicken and added some to his dry. He gobbled it up, along with the dry. I don’t see anything wrong with adding chicken- I mean you can add a little, just for a little flavor- I would make the ratio of dry more than the chicken- if you just add a little I don’t think it would be a problem when you don’t.. Also since he has been sick I have been giving him just little bites of his chicken for a treat! I would much rather add ckn than canned food anyways!

YT 2000 Club Member | I do love to spoil them a bit.....maybe I will give chicken just as a treat a couple times a weeks to top off their food. My Tameka was a picky eater and I tended to give her chicken to get her to eat. She got so spoiled, that she preferred the chicken to her dry kibble! I just don't want that to happen, again. This boiled chicken is the only people food, she has eaten besides veggies! I just love how she is so excited to get her meals with the chicken!
