| Frontline Plus My 2 Yorkies are on Revolution for heartworm etc. This week we added Frontline Plus as we are in an area with a lot of deer ticks and they have picked up a few. My question - is anyone else using this. The dose seems to be an awful large amount - enough to soak my two 5 lb dogs. Do I really need a whole dose on each - dose is for a dog up 22lbs - heck that is more than 4 of mine. Just wondering if I can split the dose between them and still be effective. Over all it was pretty messy and hard to keep the two of them from trying to have a taste of the other until it dried. Oh my. Any thoughts appreciated! |

| I'm a firm believer that those chemicals made to keep fleas and ticks off are just adding to a more serious medical problem. Here is a site that may help you. I use the all natural products and mine have never had a flea or tick, and we go into the woods for camping. Chinaroad Lowchens of Australia - Ticks, fleas, bees, flies, snakes and other gremlins! And how to deal with them!

| Frontline plus I use this very effectively against fleas and ticks, but would prefer not to use chemicals of course. I see no reason why you cannot split one vial of the 22 lb. between two dogs. I agree it is messy but it does seem to dissipate fairly quickly. As I have only one dog I don't have an answer to keeping one dog from tasting the other's FL plus, but I am amazed they like the taste!! Is it possible to separate them for a few hours after application? Good luck with keeping the critters off. |

| For the last 13 years I have used frontline. In those 13 years, I have had not one single flea and not one single tick. I'm a firm believer in the product, and I enjoy having no bugs on my dogs or in my house. I don't like bugs, and I don't like ticks. I especially do not like lyme ticks and since I live in an area heavy for the lyme tick, I am a firm believer in both the frontline product and also have the house sprayed quarterly for a bugs. I use half doses. Frontline is even safe to use on my epileptic dog, according to his neurologist who is world renowned. My dogs immune systems are nice and strong -- at 13 they act and look like babies. Good luck, I don't trust the natural stuff and it doesnt work.

| I had three Yorkies, and my vet advised me to split the dosage between my three girls. I never had a problem with fleas or ticks. I now have only one, so I use the full dosage on my little girl, but I would split it if I had two.

Revolution - Heartworm, Fleas, Ticks.. Frontline - Fleas & Ticks. Just my opinion , but if you are using both these products together it is way too much.. I use Heartguard for Heartworm & K9 Advantix II for Fleas & Ticks and it is very effective... | |

| Revolution can be used with frontline. It's not "too much" because revolution doesn't cover Lyme ticks and frontline does.

| The only tick revolution covers is the American dog tick. Lyme diseases and other tick borne diseases are far worse for a dog than frontline.

| Yes but the FACT is that both products can be safely used together, regardless of your opinion.

| I prefer not to use chemicals when possible. But the proven flea and tick meds are the least of my worries! They are very safe. Still, I do not use them all the time. I just use them periodically as needed. If I'm not seeing ticks, I don't apply. The moment I see a tick, ill give him a dose. Frontline however does not work for us. I swear it attracts them around here! The last time I used it, is when I ended finding like 3 ticks in him. So we use K9 Advantix about once every 2 months in the warmer months and none at all throughout late fall and into early spring. Last summer, I applied Advantix in June and did not see a tick all summer! I didn't realize until October how long it had been since his last dose. He gets checked over every night and bathed weekly still.

| So yes for the op I wouldn't be worried to try splitting the dose!

| I really don't know anything about Revolution. But I use Heartgard Plus and frontline plus on my Chloe. I don't split the dose she's 7 months and 5lbs. I've been useing this on her now for the last 4 months. Ticks are really bad around here. |
