I prefer not to use chemicals when possible. But the proven flea and tick meds are the least of my worries! They are very safe.

Still, I do not use them all the time. I just use them periodically as needed. If I'm not seeing ticks, I don't apply. The moment I see a tick, ill give him a dose.

Frontline however does not work for us. I swear it attracts them around here! The last time I used it, is when I ended finding like 3 ticks in him. So we use K9 Advantix about once every 2 months in the warmer months and none at all throughout late fall and into early spring.

Last summer, I applied Advantix in June and did not see a tick all summer! I didn't realize until October how long it had been since his last dose. He gets checked over every night and bathed weekly still.
