| ![]() So I have been reading through threads on YT and it seems a lot of people here feed Royal Canin or Canine Caviar. I was wondering if anyone had other opinions for a good puppy food, I plan on also giving her home cooked food once or twice a week (rice and chicken) or do you think that would be too hard on a puppies stomach? Also, I saw some people on here saying that they feed their babies frozen green beans and cheerios, which I love ![]() |

| ![]() for treats i only use bully sticks from bestbully.com, (bullys are not agreed upon with everyone on yt, as they can harbor bacteria and sometimes can cause choking so only give when monitored) i pick mine up when not being chewed on and i also cut off any soft areas that get stringing from being chewed. yorkie yummies, wellness beef treats. mine eat bil jac food which they do have a puppy formula....you may want to just add a bit of plain boiled chicken broken up real small here and there for a special dinner. mine dont do well when feed chick and rice for some reason. my three also eat carrots, green beans, and green peppers as snacks and love them. i have not tried the cheerios yet.

| ![]() Carrots and green peppers! Oh i love it. I grow a rather large garden so the fresh vegetable treats all sound wonderful to me. Thank you so much for the bully stick idea, i certainly would monitor her around any toys. |

| ![]() I give lots of fruits and veggies for treats also. Just remember, no onion, garlic, grapes or raisins, or anything that has been cooked with any of those. I don't like bully sticks bc they stink, even the ones that are supposed to be odor free. I can still smell it. I am just sensitive to that smell. I prefer to give Himalayan Chews. A little pricey but last for a really long time and don't get that moist even when being chewed on for a long time. I wouldn't really give a puppy chicken and rice for a meal just because. Puppies tend to be really finicky eaters and I think if you give them chicken and rice they won't want anything else! They need to eat a balanced meal. Also rice is a PITA to get out of the hair. It also sticks to the roof of their mouth.

| ![]() If you home cook make sure you talk to a nutritionist about it so you can make sure it is balanced. Bully sticks are the best chews they are 100% digestible unlike rawhide and greenies. What did your breeder have your pup on? Normally its best to keep them on that for awhile to make sure they can get used to there surroundings.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() I use Zuke's mini naturals salmon treats and cheerios as treats. I am feeding Weruva canned and Fromms grain free kibble.

| ![]() I know that Horizon Legacy has a puppy formula. Horizon is a very good food. They also have Amicus, which is a small breed formula and I believe it is all life stages. Fromm has good foods too, and many of them are all life stages. When our last 2 dogs were puppies, we fed them Nature's Variety Prairie foods (usually chicken and brown rice formula) which were all life stages foods. They now have an actual puppy formula. For puppy treats we used Zuke's Mini Naturals (they liked the chicken ones best) and plain Cheerios. Then later we added Milk Bones because that's what all the other dogs get.

| ![]() Yes, definitely find a nutritionist to talk to about home feeding ![]() As for treats, I have a dehydrator and dehydrate A LOT of various things (chicken, beef, liver, etc) and they love it. For store bought treats, the only ones I feed are bully sticks (bestbully.com) and Zukie's Mini Naturals. ![]()
