Oh my, this food business is so complex with so many traps for the poor unwary pet owner!! I do wonder though why in a high quality dog food the producer would choose a cheap filler such as guar gum ( especially one that you say has other than good effects on the gut) rather than something advantageous, like pumpkin? The cost cannot be that different? The beat goes on with no perfect solution!

Personally, i wouldn't even think of switching. RC is a trusted company that does a major amount of research. Unless something is wrong, why switch?

LOL, this is why it is so important to look first to quality control and safety before ingredients. Yes, it makes you wonder a lot and indeed it is very scary for pet owners. It is hard to trust companies that don't do what I would consider basics (vet nutritionist on staff, feed trials, etc).

Well known established long term companies with minimal recalls. I'm liking my new vet better and better lol

No stress now, LOL, I vented it out yesterday.
I do feel though that however good the CC food may be, the customer service is not good. As few stores stock it we depend more on CC directly for help and info.
I am sure there will be many favorite foods in answer to your query. I for one have been through a lot with my difficult eater! What do you feed? Always good to have input from happy pet moms about this ( for some) difficult subject.

It really depends on what your goals are with switching...ie, are you unhappy with RC for some reason? If yes, there are lots of other foods to try. If you are happy w/ RC and you don't have a real reason to switch, geesh, I'd stick where you are.

I agree to stick with whatever they are eating with no problems. I tried cc and my dog will NOT touch it. I'm trying to find a dry food she will eat. Maybe I will try to Royal Canin or Wellness next. Gesh, this is terrible finding a good food they will eat.

Thanks, everyone! I canceled the order. They eat the Royal Canin pretty well, some days better than others. I made the mistake of adding scrambled egg and chicken once in awhile and I think they got spoiled. Even though I mush it together really well with their kibble they still are able to pick out the "good stuff". Little stinkers LOL! I think I'll keep the chicken and egg as a reward instead and let them eat the kibble dry. I'll follow your advice and stick with RC.

This post made me chuckle. Mine would all do that as well....except for Olivia. I put tiny pieces of chicken in her kibble one day and she picked all around eating the kibble and leaving the chicken in the bowl! WeirdO...

My pups are both on rx foods to manage chronic medical issues (the non yorke eats RC Urinary SO and my little chicky eats Purina HA).

If I had a choice in the matter they would probably be on RC or SD unless I felt like cooking because that is by far my first choice.
