| American Natural Premium Grain Free...anyone have any input? Good evening, everyone! Today was Lambeau's 1st offical day out in the big world....2 weeks after his last round of vacs. It just so happened that there was a 'grand opening' of a new doggie boutique so we decided to check it out. Nice little place and was pleased to get 2 sample packages of American Natural Premium Grain Free..Duck & Pork....Ocean Fish & Potatoe. Lambeau is doing just fine on his Nutro Natural Choice Puppy formula but thought he might like his meals changed up a bit. He is 4 months old and the Natural Choice is all he has ever been fed and since he's not having any problems, I sure don't want to start one by 'fixing something that ain't broke'. What do you all think?? Should I start mixing 1/8 of the new in with his current and see how things go? He's gaining weight regularly, about 7 to 8 oz every 4 weeks(vet checks)....good,firm poops....sleeps very well @ nite. If it matters, he is 'free fed' approx 1/2 C to 3/4 C daily. I have been slowly introducing green beans, apple pieces & carrot slivers as an occasional surprise treat. So far he hasn't turned up his nose @ anything I am anxiously awaiting your wise & wonderful input |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | It sounds like you're liking what you're currently feeding, so don't feel you *have* to change anything . I will say this though - I'm not the biggest fan of Nutro, especially, bc they've had such terrible and fatal quality issues...I personally would not feel comfortable feeding it bc of that. But...that said, there are many dogs who've had great success with it, so you kinda have to look at all sides. I don't know much about the food you're mentioning...maybe post the ingredients so we can see...? I do like the duck and fish as the protein source, though. And, I'm a fan of grain free and/or very-low-grain for dogs...unless there is a health issue that prevents that kind of diet. I noticed you only have 13 posts, so I wanted to say WELCOME to YT and congrats on your new adorable furbaby.
