I have used BB wilderness and BB grain free and all of mine do well on both of them. I do keep the product code with the date on it from each bag until it is gone, just to make sure. If I thought that my dogs were ill due to their food I at least have a place to start. |
Company first (trials, who makes the food, who creates recipes, recalls, quality control, etc.). Then guaranteed analysis. Then does pup do well on it. Then ingredients. Personally, BB does not meet my requirements for my dogs. I am not satisfied with the company. I would not feel safe feedingit. But again, that is my opinion. My sister's hound eats BB and does fie. |
Camrey eats BB Life Protection Formula Chicken & Oatmeal Recipe for Small Breed Puppies. She has not had any stomach issues or loose stools. She tolerates it well. She is extremely energetic, has a beautiful coat, and has healthy bowel movements. I have no complaints with this food. I've actually started looking at their Small Breed Adult choices recently. She'll be a year old soon & we need to decide. |

BB Food These and other recent reviews are very scary!!! The worst point seemed to be that the chicken source was unknown(China???)! Until reading this I was a champion of BB food and have fed both my dogs on the Chicken and Rice formula. I also wonder if my current dog's recent (minor) upset was due to BB food. At the end of a 6 lb bag he did not want to eat it any more (I did keep in a cool airtight container) and threw up bile once, but perfect stool. I thought the food had gone rancid, but perhaps it was bad? Today I took all BB canned, kibble and treats back to the store just to be safe. I asked if BB had changed hands but the pet store owner said that was not so??? He had all tests but is fine. I am now feeding Hills ID to give his tum a rest and then will try the Canine Caviar Chicken and Millet, after all the good things said here about it. This food issue is driving me nuts, what are we to do?? |
This was posted on there face book page Hi pet parents. Recently we have seen a rash of FB posts expressing concern about information you have read about Blue Buffalo on other web sites. Some of these other posts are on sites that claim to contain “independent” reviews of products. Some even have names that might be read to suggest the sites have official government functions. And the posts tell some very negative stories about Blue Buffalo. We have also read these posts, and we are very concerned, because of their total lack of accuracy with regard to the quality of BLUE food. They may claim that BLUE sources its meat from China. Absolutely false. Or that we get grains from China. Also false. Or that we have been sold to a “conglomerate”. Yep, you guessed, it: totally false...we're an independent and family run company. Some of the posts tell distressing stories about pet illnesses, and describe BLUE’s alleged refusal to respond to inquiries about the pet illnesses. Nothing could be further from the truth. We take all claims about the integrity of our products very seriously. Every single claim that comes into our Customer Care Center, either by e-mail or telephone, is fully investigated. The medical records are reviewed by our veterinarians, our manufacturing records are pored over, to look for any indication that an error has occurred. And, we keep very detailed records of all claims. So we know when a post on another site matches up with a claim we have received at Customer Care. They almost never do. If the “consumers” who write these posts really do exist, the stories they tell have almost never been brought to us in a way that would allow us to investigate, verify, and respond to the claim. These claims are unsubstantiated, and we firmly believe that it's their design because competition is not always friendly, and the web can be used to start rumors without the need for any support. The important thing to take away from all of this for you, as pet parents, is to be very suspicious of any of these “review” sites. And certainly do not rely on them for information about Blue Buffalo, or any product for that matter. If you want to know anything about Blue Buffalo or its products, please contact our Customer Care Team using the tab above or by calling 1-800-919-2833. Our Customer Care associates, who are employees of Blue Buffalo here in the United States, are there for you and will help resolve any issues you may have. The integrity of our products is the lifeblood of our brand, and the relationship of trust we have with you and all companion animals, and is something we will never compromise. |
Lovetodream88. I saw that on Facebook as well. I tend to believe them. If we believed what everyone said in reviews and stuff I think our pets would starve. Possibly us too. |

I don't care what people feed. None of my business. The negative BB reports are similar to the na reports about their treats "killing dogs". Feed what you are comfortable with. That said, I tend to disagree with their FB post bc I ersonally know a veterinary professional who did not have an easy time getting info from this comany after a patient was adversely affected (possibly from the food). |

BB Food Very convincing FB entry! I guess we have to believe them? Perhaps we tend to join those writing bad reviews when we have a problem, which may be nothing to do with the food?? However, a few very reputable review organizations have had some difficulty retrieving from BB the source companies of their food components. They did not recommend the (otherwise good) food because of this. I must stay that when I have tried to contact BB customer service in the past, they were unhelpful and sometimes took ages to reply by phone or email. They may have improved now? I do feel that dog food companies do not seem to have great quality controls on the foods, and sub-contract the components to larger producers. I have seen changes in appearance and odor from one bag to the next and the food companies cannot say why. However, in the end we have to choose what food to give our fur babes with the best knowledge we can glean. Unless we cook ourselves we cannot be 100% sure of what they are eating. |
I can list something bad about every pet food so to each there own. |
I personally like the BB food! I emailed the company recently and the very next day, they called me back. I talked to them about an ingredient that was a concern to me. They were very nice and receptive with my concerns! Not every dog food is suited for every dogs system! Just my opinion.....:) |
I am going to researsch blue buffalo. I have been feeding that to my yorkies but I heard of some recalls. So I am checking into that. |
