| K9 Advantix safe? So i believe I found my baby's first flea on his tummy last night and I about freaked out. I've never given him any flea medications before and didn't really know which one to purchase, so I went with the K9 Advantix since this was the only one that seemed to cater to different weights for dogs. I purchased the <10lbs package and applied it to him tonight. Now I know I should've done research beforehand, but I was so freaked out about the flea I had found that I was in a hurry to purchase medication. But now I'm sitting here and reading reviews on Amazon about all the side effects and horror stories that others have gone through with their dogs and it's seriously scaring me. Do many of you use K9 Advantix as well? Am I freaking out for nothing or should I be worried? He seems to be doing fine right now since it's only been a few hours, but many of the reviews stated seeing problems after a 24 hour period. Please help! |

| My only issue with it the couple of months I used it is the topical preparations left Huey all greasy and stringy looking. I opted to go with a pill due to this.

| It's dog specific, some peoples dogs have a sensitivity to it that causes the irritation to the skin. But I used it on my dog for 6 month with no issues. I switched it because I acquired a cat. Which you have to keep cats away from it for two days. |

| I have used it on mine and my moms dogs for over 2 years and we have never had any problems. Its is the ONLY preventive that works for ticks where I live.

| I've been keeping an eye on him today and he seems to be doing fine aside from shaking himself a lot more than usual (like how they shake themselves after a bath). I'm glad everyones pups haven't had a reaction to this. I'm feeling a little bit more at ease now, but I'll continue to observe and let everyone know if something does come up. Thanks for all your replies! |

| I've been using K9 Advantix for 4-5 years. Only thing that works for my boys in MD. No issues. Seems like the fleas and ticks here are immune to Frontline (from my experiences).

It will kill cats. Something about the way it is metabolized makes it like poison to cats. We have a cat and we keep her away. Well, she keeps herself away. She never wants anything to do with the boys-LOL
