Yorkie Talker | Ear Mites :( On the second day of our baby being with us we saw that our baby was scratching his ears allot, his previous owner had told us about it & said it was probably "just a injury he got from playing" we didn't know what to do since he's our first puppy ever!, but i started reading a few things here on YT & my concern grew. We didn't have money either but i told my fiancé that we had to take our baby to get checked cause it could be serious. So i called vets offices & they said they could see him until Monday but i didn't want to have our baby wait so long!, then i came across a animal clinic that could see him that day, i was relieved!, the only thing now was the money :/, but my fiancé said let's check the bank balance maybe we could work something out, so when we checked The Lord had provided the means for us to take our Canelito to the vets (we got our tax return, so thanks USA as well ) Anywaays when we got there the vet had said our baby had ear mites :O, but i couldn't believe it, how could it be if we didn't have any other Fur-kids, & that was our second day with him, until they explained that dogs don't regularly get them but cats do, & well his previous owner had 3 cats in her house as well as another dog, so that explained it all, thankfully they gave us an ear cleanser & a medication to kill those mites, & our baby even got his vaccines he needed!, |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hi welcome to YT, I hope your mite treatment goes well. Did you get your dog from a known breeder or just a private owner that bred a single litter? Did you get a medical record with the little one too, just so you know what vaccinations have been done? Hope you can post some pics of your baby. |

| It appears that finances may be a problem, as it is for many of us...Revolution is a medication that would benefit you most, as it isfor heartworms, but it also controls parasites and ear mites as well! That will save you some money....you only need ONE medication to control all those awful things that can have a terrible effect on your baby's health, rather than worm medicine, heartworm medicine AND ear mites as well as fleas!! You separate the hair between the shoulder blades making certain the drop gets directly onto the skin....very effective. Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 02-23-2013 at 03:15 PM. |

You can ask your vet to send them a prescription for the Revolution. Be sure you get the correct strength for your puppy's weight. | |

| Welcome! Glad your baby is doing better. Earmites are not attracted to humans. You might start putting a little cash in an envelope each pay day for an emergency fund. There are several here that do this and it really comes in handy. There is a ton of great information in the library here. |
