| Safe or not? So my gf was browsing Youtube and found this link: Would it be safe to make these for my girls or no? I don't want to do anything to hurt them or make them sick but I'd really like to start doing the cooking for them.

| I personally would not use those ingredients...ground beef yuk (pink goo loll), white rice (too high in glycemic index), brown is a little better. IDK, I'm so scared to home cook bc I might mess up on the vitamin part, don't want to over vitaminize them or give them a deficiency. I don't even know if the guy in the vid is a pet nutritionist? Like, the blended egg shells are good for calcium, but too much calcium is bad. How is that measurement he's giving appropriate for every dog? They're all different sizes & weight... If I do decide, I'll be using Balance IT & getting a consult.

| I home cook. I would get a recipe specific for your pet. I use Dr Remillard and have been very pleased!! You can get a generic diet from her at petdiets.com.

| I fry to med. rare, inexpensive steaks, and add steamed green beans, broccoli, carrots and either Quinoa or pearled barley. I make enough of each thing to last about five days so I don't have to cook every day. Works perfectly for my girls.

| I started home cooking for Lahja ( 3 months old) Bought a recipe book for Yorkies, online) She loves the food but the biscuits she ignores. Tomorrow off to the vet for supplements. And there's no way that she will go back to dog food...which she hardly ate in the first place. I cooked a variety of four meals and freeze it so that she can have different meals every day. Hope I am on the right track! |
