| 5 Month Old & In Heat? Not sure if our little girl is in heat. Never noticed any blood but this morning when she urinated, it was an orange-ish color. We have not had her spayed yet because our vet advised us to wait until she is 6 months. How can I be certain she is in heat or is orange-ish urine something else?? Thanks...

| The vulva becomes twice the normal size before bleeding occurs. Your baby may have a urinary track infection which is painful. I hope she's ok. Sending good thoughts your way.

| Thanks for that information Yorkiedaze! Everything looks normal size and she has been acting normal, too. Still playful and silly. I hope she is not in any pain! Waiting on the results from the urinalysis.

| Forgot to update on the results from the urinalysis. Came back negative for a UTI. Still not sure why her urine was orange. She took the antibiotics and her urine was normal the next day. Once they called to say it was not a UTI, we stopped the medication.
