| Bordatella vaccine. How often? How often should Ruger get a bordatella vaccine? My old vet recommends every 6 months. My new vet, who I like better, says every year. Since he's going to be borded for a couple days, in a couple of weeks, should I ask the Kennel what they require? I hate to give him more vaccines than he needs and he had the vaccine just over 6 months ago. I looked at the sticky and it seemed a little vague. Some of the links are also gone. Thanks a lot. |

| a lot of kennels want specific shots and sometimes it doesn't matter when they had it. They will have rules like must have x,y,z done not more than 14 days of boarding. I hate that because they are forcing over vaccination. Some may make waivers if you have titers. Many don't. i would suggest finding out asap.

| I think with boarding most places will say every 6 months. However, if your due to get one I would do it a week or so before they go to stay.

| My vet says every 6 months. There are 5 dogs here so it is like having our own kennel. I also have 2 or 3 other dogs that come for visits and I require that they have the shot every 6 months because they live in apartments and are exposed more and could bring more into my house. I can not imagine a house full of babys with kennel cough. |
