Thank you everyone!! I chalk all these questions up to my being a nervous mother. We plan on picking her up at 12 weeks, which would be March 1st if possible. |

Buster is now starting week 2 of the Duck and is not chewing his feet! I have tried so many with him. I had great hopes for our last brand Osopure but he was still chewing himself on that. |

I don't care what people feed ther dogs. I've got enough to juggle with my own. I do care about companies and what they are and are not doing. If CC was the oly food my dog did well on, I'd feed it in a minute. For us the food happens to be Purina HA. Don't care what others think of it either.:) But as Brit said, I am sure if somebody started a pro SD, Purina, Euk, etc. thread right now there would be people with concerns and that is their right. I'm very happy for all of you that have tound a food that your dogs do well on. Again, I'd feed it too if it was the only thing my dog did well on. However, other than that I "personally" would not feed CC. It isn't a surprise that it works for allergies and intolerances bc protein and carb soyrces are limited and noval. These foods have not gone through feeding trials. Tells me the qc budget might be a bit tight... it is AAFCO certified by nutrient profiles, but bc of the phos in one formula I'm not sure how that is possible. Normal, middle aged dogs start to lose some kidney function in a lot of cases. Phosphorus should not cause this, but it does not help the problem. Since kidneys have to be about 75% damaged for values to elevate, it is considered good practice to keep the phos lower before a problem becomes evident. So I personally would have no interest in feeding foods with higher levels. I think they changed their lg breed puppy formula. Before the calcium was quite high which defeats the purpose of a lg breed food. I read about the CEO and his educational history (research and pharmacology), yet no details are given. No idea of his credentials. He could have many advanced degrees for all I know, but ? I'm a bio student, taken nutrition, etc., etc. So I could start a company tmw and get people to buy my food even though I have no idea what I'm doing. Do they have long term studies backing the claims they make about cancer rate reduction?... I send emails to companies bc it is faster. Not going to call CC bc I would not feed it, so no point in wasting my time. But I'd say call and get answers to your questions. Compare answers given by opinions of veterinary nutritionists. Then decide whether or not to feed this or any food. JMO. |
I love love love LOVE how people twist what you say. I didn't know some of you were Canine Nutritionist. |

Even if a thread is titled "This is a PRO Canine Caviar thread ONLY" -- you can be sure that we would allow AND encourage all opinions, pro or con, on such a thread. In fact, I think it's darn right dangerous to promote any one food as though it's the end all be all bc there is no such thing. As you note above, Brit is "pretty good with foods". I'd actually say she is *incredible* w/ evaluating foods. I've seen her post in here for years, and I'm continually grateful that she (and EllieMay, btw!) is a person who evaluates the ingredients factually and fairly, and also how those ingredients fit into a canine's nutritional needs ("needs" defined by experts in the field). I don't see one single 'negative' thing Brit has posted about this food; in fact, what she posted is are important FACTS that people should consider when feeding this food. How is that bad? Or negative? I don't know if the "canine nutritionist" comment was meant toward EllieMay or Brit, but whoever it was meant for...that was uncalled for. These 2 very helpful members took time to post - with good intentions - and are basically denigrated for it. Please do *not* do that. EllieMay is also one of the most educated folks on here, and her opinions about food or health aren't colored by anything such as popular opinion. Not to mention she is pre-vet, owns/studies Vet Textbooks, reads journal articles, and has spent prob 1000+ hours in a Vet's office shadowing, learning, teaching. Isn't that someone you'd *hope* would share their opinion? If a member came on this thread and posted "CC is the worst food on the planet" - they are welcome to do so. They'll get some responses, that's for sure - but they are free to have their opinion. Sorry this long but come on folks, YT is better than this. All opinions are welcome about food. |

I believe, and correct me if I am reading my own post incorrectly, I said: Don't be ridiculous... everybody is entitled to their own opinions on any of the threads... that is what they are here for. Opinions. [Yeah..... I could have Swore that is what I typed and I just went back and read and Yeah. That is what "I" typed]!!!! It just seems to a LOT of us, lately that Brit comes on to a Lot of the CC threads with negative comments about CC! I have been PM’d by “Several” people asking what the deal is with that… I don’t see anything good that she has said about it in this thread. It is negative when she continually insists [at least 3-times in this thread….] that the food is “Over Priced”…. Even placing asterisk around *is*. Insinuating that the Company is charging too much. That is just simply Not True. In fact come to find out it is her store and the online companies that are Over Pricing The food to make their own Profit. And I haven’t said one thing about Ellie Mae. Yes I think CC is an Awesome food but it is up to every individual to choose the food for their dog. Yes, I will give my 2 cents about how Great my pup has done with it and people can do with that what they want. I would like to know who is promoting CC as though it's the end all be all. Did I miss something somewhere?? I am giving my “testimonial” if you will, with how great it has worked for my pup! We are all adults here and I believe people can think for themselves and will make choices on their own, just as I did in the beginning of my food trials. What works for my pup may not work for another pup... that would be ridiculous to think otherwise. I am totally With Ellie Mae: At the end of the day.... I really don’t care what people feed their pups. I personally have fed Canine Caviar for going on 6-months and have had the Best results out of any other food I have fed so this is what I have decided to feed. I have called and spoken with them, I am satisfied, and I don’t care what anybody has to say about that. |

It's nothing to get too upset about - but this has always been YT's stance (allowing opinions, yours and others) so we need to support it. The OP has requested this thread be closed :). |
