| ![]() As far as "cheap" food (or budget friendly food is a better term) One should look at these: Fromm Classics ($20 for 15lbs) Fromm Gold ($12.99 for 5lbs) Dr. Tims ($9.99 for 5lbs) Annamaet (lowest range around $11 for 8lbs) Earthborn (lowest $12 for 6lbs) Pro Pac

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() Yes thank you for the better term than "cheap food" ... I really dislike that term when talking about budget friendly food. I know that I said it in my previous comment, but I really didn't know of a better word a the time (but now I do). And I agree with Yorkiemom above! Thanks so much for the examples of some budget friendly healthier foods! |

| ![]() My cousin just bought 2 cases of the Beneful in the plastic containers....some kind of wet food, looking like stew or something....her dogs love it and she has been feeding it for years with no problem....I argued with her until I loist what little voice I had regained....does ANYONE know for sure if the wet crap is as bad as the dry Beneful????? Does the recall include the wet stuff????? I am hoping the problem is in the preservatives used to control fungus and moisture in the dry kibble....and that it is not stuff used in the "stew" type Beneful...... |

| ![]() I'm sure the wet stuff is as bad as the dry and personally I would be worried about anything Purina. If you told her about the link how it could make her dogs sick or kill them and that she is supporting a terrible company and she still wants to feed it I'm not sure what you can do but she certainly is not choosing what is best for her dogs.

| ![]() To be clear, there was NO "official" recall. The wet stuff is probably just as bad.

| ![]() And this is where I am having problems with this head strong cousin....I am over this....maybe if there will be an official recall that I can show her, my argument will be strengthened......I am soooooooo happy I do not have to worry with walking thru this minefield of all these dog foods...this will make a sane person crazy! I gave her the short list you gave earlier...they are reasonably priced and maybe she will iopt for one of them....I have to accept that I can NOT control the entire world and tell people what NOT to feed their dogs....all I can do is put the recall list out there and then let it go! Maybe when it is officially recalled, people will listen.... Last edited by Yorkiemom1; 01-18-2013 at 11:46 AM. |

| ![]() Cheap is usually a good term to me but depends on the context - I don't necessarily associate the word with poor quality or little value and love buying something good cheap but thank you for the Beneful alert, which I'm passing on to one and all. It's pretty sad in this day and time dogs are dying because of poor quality control or whatever is behind this when dog food companies have all the wherewithal they need to keep this from happening over and over and over.
