| Dangerous treats This looks like it went viral on Facebook. Evey time I look at this, my eyes water up. The owner looks so hurt, but wanted to get the word out about the treats that took his little babies life. Sharing because it's what keeps people aware. I hear all the time about treats that are harmful. I'm scared to give Charlie any anymore. But he loves treats. I don't want him to be able to enjoy a treat. What is without a doubt safe? What else besides these Waggin' Train dog treats are known dangerous. What are you giving your baby to snack on? Should I just be giving him homemade treats and forget the bagged store bought ones all together? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater |

| the only snacks my get are bully sticks, himalayan chews, wellness beef treats and freezy pups. we give veggies also. that is the saddess pic and very heartbreaking. if i lost my baby by not being smarter about how and what i feed them i could never forgive myself. ive even stopped the dental nylabones because im reading they are not a digestable as the product states.

| Here is a post from another YT member who also lost his Yorkie. That picture breaks my heart. So sad to loose a dog due to tainted food. It makes me angry when they imply that the owner fed them too many treats, trying to blame it on the owners. Yet their marketing departments sell us the image of bonding and training our pets using their treats. It's okay to feed them less tainted treats so they only get poisoned slowly? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ky-treats.html

| I had posted on here several times, an extended list of all the things I give my babies as treats....I dont know how to pull up old posts so I could copy paste the list...I can tell you I give my dogs NO STORE BOUGHT TREATS AT ALL....they get green beans, cooked carrots, little diced celery pieces, all human foods....sweet treats are Honey Nut Cheerios, Fruit Loops, vanilla wafers, graham crachers, Teddy Bears, Animal Cracker cookies, cheddar Fishes, cottage cheese, plain yogurt, Gerber baby food chicken vienna sausage thingies...dont know what they actually call them but they are healthier than vienna sausage, made out of chicken for toddlers.....bites of cheese....cheddar, there is a white cheese whose name leaves my memory now, I invested in an Excaliber Dehydrater (rather expensive modle, but I use it for all my dogs) and I make all my own jerky....I buy TONS of those Zycon boneless/skinless chicken breasts which are SO ECONOMICAL AND CHEAPER THAN YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE, INCLUDING SAMS AND WALMART... (https://www.zayconfoods.com/refer/zf78039 ) and I use these for not only the family, but also the dogs ....for Christmas, I was given a dog treat machine with a little recepie book where you make up all your own batter and then bake it like a waffle in this "dog bone" machine.....this looks interesting and will be using that! Also, I will bake tiny little muffrins from those dog cake mixes....but I do NOT buy ANY store bought treats, and I certainly do not even LOOK at anything bagged for sale in stores....If it is not good enough for me and my son to eat, my dogs dont get it. As a rule of thumb, I just do not trust people to love my babies as much as I do, and they are not as concerned about what goes into their treats as I am.... |

| The only 100% safe treats are the ones you make at home. Mine loves chicken that has been put in the dehydrator. One rule of thumb when buying any treats from the store is stay extremely far away from ANY treats made in China.
