| Sick Puppy Please Help!! Hello everyone, As you all know I am a new yorkie mommy. I took little Romeo to the vet for the first time to have him all checked out and it was time for his first shots. He acted totally fine!! When I took him there, they took a fecal sample and said he has MAJOR bateria in his stool. Thet kept askingme if he had thrown up or if his poop had been runny and I said no, because they havent. Then, the proceeded to tell me that his coat is not in good shape, that it is too thin. They sent him home on antibiotics for the bacteria, it's Amoxil liquid and I am supposed to give it to him 1 time every 12 hours. Okay so I gave it to him this morning when we got home and my husband stayed home with him and said he slept most of the morning, which is normal. Then I get home and my husband goes to work and Romeo now has runny poop all over the place. He is still acting normal though. He gets up and plays, its just that when he has to go, there is no warning and it is everywhere. Should I call the vet back?? Could it be the antibiotic of the shot (parvo)? Please help!!!!! I'm worried about my baby. I posted pics on the "my yorkie" page, does he look okay to you? |

| I am sorry Romeo is not feeling well. Id just keep close contact with your vet until he is better. I bet the antibiodics will help a lot.

| romeo I work for a vet for 7 years in New York, what kind of a parasite did they say Romeo has? Wher did you purchase Romeo from? Was it a pivate breeder,a pet shop, or a kennel.Certain intestional parasites will cause runny diarrhea and sometimes have blood in it. Did they mention Parvo at the vet? When a dog or puppy has the Parvo Virus, there will be a distinct odor to the stool, not like a normal diarrhea smell. |
