Formula Changes to Fromm ?? oscar has been eating Fromm for months and doing well on it. i noticed with this last bag he would get occasional soft poo but for 2 days he has had severe diarheaa. i took him to the vet for an exam and a fecal test, which came back normal and he was otherwise healthy.. vet said to give a bland diet , i gave him plain white rice for a day and he had perfect poo. this morning i gave him his normal kibble and soon after it was running out of him. i don't get it... so i called my vet and she said give him the bland diet till it clears up then try him on a limited ingredient diet. so i am going to go with that .. i found this one on chewy.com Natural Balance L.I.D. Limited Ingredient DietsŪ Sweet Potato & Fish Small Breed Bites Dry Dog Food |
Oh man! I don't think they changed their formulas...did you maybe get an expired bag or try a new formula? Do your other dogs eat the same food and have they experienced similar issues? I hope your little man does well on the NB! |

i cant figure out why oscar had such a reaction to the fromm when he was doing so well on it.. |
Just curious but which formula was it? I have 2 unopened bags of the grain-free |
It could be a bad bag. U'd call Fromm and talk to them about it. They should give a full refund/exchange. I would not feed one more meal from that bag just in case there is a problem with it. |

it was the beef fritata , there was only a bit left but i took the 2 brand new bags back to the store and they gave me a full refund.. |
I have a bag of the Beef Frittata! Hopefully we won't run into any similar issues. That's great that you were able to get a full refund though. |

i really don't know what the problem could be but i know oscar got really sick when he ate it and i just can't take any chances and continue feeding it to him. |
Hmmmm, odd. We haven't had any issues but we're on a different formula. Beef Fritta was his favorite, but it did give him the softest stools, but it seems weird that it would just come up randomly at the end of the bag? Did he get into anything outside, etc? |
I would still call them and let them know that you are having a problem. |

Oh no!! Poor Oscar! Girl- why is it you, me and Theresa have the worse luck with food!! LOL I hope Oscar does well on the NB.. is he feeling better? I hear NB is a good food- |
I remember reading another thread about Fromm giving a pup soft stools, a few weeks ago. It registered with me, because I had the same experience with ZoE & a bag of Fromm Chicken A La Veg, that I picked up at the store right by my parent's house. ZoE's regular food is RC, but I forgot to take some with me, so ran around to the nearest food store and when they didn't have her RC, I went with Fromm. Strange...maybe some dogs just don't handle it well. |
http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...melly-poo.html here's the thread...but you probably already know that, as you posted on it. :D |
We have had some mixed results with Fromm also. We feed Horizon Legacy now and all 4 of our dogs like it and do well on it. |

Ohhhh No... that is odd that is would happen at the end of the bag....?!?! Hoping Oscar starts feeling better!! One of my girlfriend's pups is having issues, right now with NB. I think it is that same fish formula. I just shipped her a box of CC via Fed-Ex next day delivery, today. |

i know it is really strange. he never really had a problem till this last bag.. he could not eat the surf & turf cause it gave him soft poo but he never had a problem with the fritata till now.. well i will try the natural balance l.i.d. hopefully he will do well on it. it only has 2 main ingredients so we will see... |
My 2 boys did good on the Fish & Sweet Potato. It just gave them stinky fish poo :p Other than that it was good though. Hope he is better soon. We are on a bag of Fromm Duck & Sweet Potato. Mickey is doing great but Max's stols have more volume and are softer. Uggh! |
Moki has no problems with any of the Fromms. Could just be something in there that you pup just doesn't agree with. They do use cheese. Most likely abundant in there area and maybe used as a filler?? |
My vet had said and I have read that unless there are immediate signs of intolerance, 3-4 months is a good time frame to see short-term as well as long-term effects. Perhaps it wasn't anything having to do with the bottom of the FROMM bag...?! |

anyway he is doing perfect on the Natural Balance L.I.D His poos are perfect and his eyes have even stopped watering... momma is happy :D |
