| Thanks for the great informative post Nancy! Honest Kitchen is the only dog food that is approved by the FDA. Here's a link from THK that describes 'human grade pet food' & the different associations: Human Grade Pet Food | The Honest Kitchen Human food is produced in accordance with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) Code of Federal regulations (CFR)Title 21. The CFR is a very in-depth document that defines how human food production should take place, and under what conditions. The FDA’s Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) requires that pet foods, like human foods, be safe to eat, produced under sanitary conditions, contain no harmful substances, and be truthfully labeled. AAFCO, the Association of American Feed Control Officials, is a corporation whose purpose is to provide a mechanism for establishing and maintaining equitable laws, regulations and definitions and enforcement policies for regulating the manufacture, labeling, distribution and sale of animal feeds. Many states follow the regulations established by AAFCO, though each state can have its own regulations and feed control laws.

| Chicken Soup should not be on this list. It is a Diamond brand food and uses the same quality ingredients as all the other Diamond foods. You can not really trust what Diamond puts into their foods. They source their ingredients from where ever they can get them cheapest, including China. Diamond foods are Diamond foods, period. The formulas are slightly different, but the ingredients used in their foods are the same between all their foods.

| I purchased a dehydrator on EBay for $30 then found another at a yard sale for $10 and now I go to and buy organic chicken breasts, bake them for a hour, slice them and dehydrate overnight for my chicken treats. |
