| Colby doesn't want to eat, he just wants to play! I was hoping someone could help me figure out how I can get my Colby to eat! I suspect that he's not eating the food I put out simply because he just gets distracted and wants to play around! I've tried different flavors & brands, wet food and dry food(separately and mixed together). He gets extremely excited the minute I open up a can of Blue Buffalo and will run to his bowel to start munching... but then after 2 minutes of eating he starts running after me. I've tried sitting down next to him while he eats and that gets him to take a couple of bites here and there but then he starts trying to jump on me and forgets about his food altogether. If I walk away, he will just follow me and sit at my feet the entire time... and ignore the food I put out. Any ideas as to how I can get my puppy to eat? |

| Have you tried hand-feeding him? That almost always makes my puppies eat.

| I haven't tried that yet... I definitely will later today! But if that works, how do you later get your puppies to accustom to eating from their bowel and not just from your hand? |

| Whenever I hand-fed my girl (who was a picky eater but now will eat ANYTHING) I always left some food in her bowl so that she could eat some if she wanted to. She eventually started eating the food out of my hand and immediatly start eating in her bowl. When she started doing that I stopped hand-feeding. You may want to try to tire the little guy out by playing a game with him before he eats so that he won't want to play as much. If he's like my chihuahua though, who is a VERY attached velcro dog, then he is probably following you because he loves you.
