| Maya started eating a lot..?? In the past two months I noticed that maya had started eating a lot. She even gain weight which is good because she was too skinny. She is 3 years old and spayed. What can cause a dog eat more than usual? Thanks! |

Max Main's Mamma Donating YT Member | I am not sure but my Boxer did the same thing around the same age. He was always a light eater and would never finish his daily serving of food. Then all of a sudden he started gobbling it all up and looking at me like "give me more". At 7 years old he is finally growing out of the name Skinny Lenny. LOL! Hopefully someone can provide us some insight.

| Uni also started eating more at three years old and isn't super skinny anymore. However I just had her spayed right around the same time, and I think it was the spay.

| Maya was spayed at 8 months so it can not be that for sure. I am taking her tomorrow to the vet for blood work that's for sure. Since I wrote my first message, she ate 3 times! |

| If its not excessive I wouldn't worry. Our elderly BOxer had Cushings and she ate and drank A LOT!

| I should add when I say a lot I mean in the middle of the night she would wake us up to drink water. It wasn't just when coming in or after eating.

| So I went to the vet with a poop sample. All is good! They Also drew her blood for full analysis. I Have just recently relocated to the suburbs and I was quite shocked by the final bill! $400 for blood and stool, two medications and exam fee. Is that normal?? When I lived in downtown Toronto I never had such expensive bill. Last edited by guliverandmaya; 09-09-2012 at 06:34 PM. |
