| Teeth question! Hello! My Yorkie is 8 months now, and his adult teeth have come in, but his baby teeth have not fallen out! Is this common? I have an appointment with the vet on Saturday to see how much it will cost for them to pull out his baby teeth. His mouth looks so funny right now, DOUBLE TEETH!! Anyway, I guess I am just wondering if this is common, or if anyone else has had this problem. If so, how much did they charge you to pull out your babys teeth? Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks! |

| Yes it is very common. Most people have the dogs baby teeth pulled with they are neutering him as the dog will need to be asleep when you do this. The cost will vary vet to vet. Good Luck!

| Yes it is common. I had my dogs baby teeth pulled when they were spayed/neutered and they didnt charge me anything for the teeth being pulled.

| Yeah I was thinking I'd see if it could be done when he gets fixed, I just wonder how much they will charge me. Well I am glad to know I am not the only one. I was also worried it might affect his bite, but it looks ok, the baby teeth are kind of just pushed to the side...thanks! |

| It is common. Edie looked like a little shark for a while, with 2 rows of teeth. The baby teeth fell out on their own. We did not have to have them pulled, but I understand that often they have to be pulled by the vet. |

| for those who had their yorkie's teeth pulled the same time as the neutering/spaying, when was that done? at 7 or 8 months? when the adult teeth starts to come out? oh, and are adult teeth sharper or more dull than puppy teeth? |

| Chachi had his pulled at 7 months old when he was neutered. The baby teeth are sharper than the adult teeth.

| Chico has the same problem now and he is 10 months and they don't seem to be getting looser!! Our vet said wait a bit to see if it falls out but if I wait how long is too long and would it harm his bite to wear it hurts him??? Does anyone know??

| Any advise will be very helpful I'm very concerned! Oh yeah he was already neutered and the cost the vet told me for the teeth is $55.00 for putting him under and $5.00 a tooth.

| Baby Teeth When my 11 month old Yorkie was neutered at 7 months he had 4 baby teeth extracted at the same time. The vet charged $15/tooth. My 7 month old will be neutered in early January and has 4 teeth that are doubles and will have to come out. I hope the price doesn't go up at the beginning of the New Year! It is true, the adult teeth are not nearly as sharp as the baby teeth, thank goodness! |

| oh it's good to hear that their adult teeth are not as sharp as baby teeth. my poor fingers are getting pretty chewed up here! i'm planning to get bunjee neutered at month 5 or there abouts, so chances are, i won't be able to have any extractions done at that time, but i'm going to have his dewclaws removed. thanks for the prices on teeth extractions, now i can think about saving up for it. and if bunjee's teeth fall out on their own, then mommy's gonna buy bunjee some new toys! |
