| Crystals in urine? I am a bit confused...vet technician at vet office tested Rico's urine and found NO crystals. The same urine was sent to an outside lab for a complete analysis and a lot of calcium oxalate crystals were found. Vet wants me to bring in another urine sample to test again in his office. Has this happened to anyone? |

| My cat had this, two surgeries later we lost him. I hope the prognosis and treatment goes better for you. It was 21 years ago for me so there hace been ample improvements tge surgery was an experimental procedure then. I remember my Dad about fainting at the idea of a 900 surgery for a free cat, after the first surgery we did the second and he didn't make it out if recovery. I have heard that sometimes now a change in diet is the first treatment used. Sirry this seems like a really negative post, but I've always hoped the information gained from loosing my cat could help in the future treatment of this issue. Please update.

| I had the reverse happen. The vet said yes, but the lab said no. The (former) vet said that it could be because Ian used to wear belly bands and some urine may have been left on his "stream line". (He only used the bands for about three hours at a time).

| That's interesting...so do you think that the vets office was more accurate in this case? |
