| Hydrolyzed Protein Diet Hi Everyone! I wanted to check in with the group. My yorkie, Kiddo, is now 4, and over the years has been diagnosed with Chronic Gastroenteritis/IBD. In addition to being on Sulphasalazine and Prednisone, he was prescribed a hydrolyzed protein diet. These changes have helped immensely as he hasn't had an episode in quite a long time. However, I do have mixed feelings about feeding him the Hill's Prescription Z/D Ultra diet. It just doesn't seem to be a quality diet, even though it has worked in the sense that I believe the hydrolyzed protein has helped his sensitive tummy. Does anyone have any history of trying different hydrolyzed protein diets or know of any that are of a higher quality? I know Royal Canin makes one - we haven't tried that one yet. Would love any opinions or feedback. Thanks! Big hugs to all of you and your yorkie babies.... |

| Hello. I have a dog with IBD. She is on a home cooked diet. However, for a while, she was on a hydrolyzed diet (Purina HA) and did very well on it initially but like many other diets she ultimately failed on it. I have a friend whose dog has been on Hill's z/d for IBD for many years with excellent results.
