| ![]() I feed BARF. Depends there are tobs of recipes but as you get more and more into raw feeding you will find various divisions, more than raw barf model prey raw...some feed store premade packaged, some only store premade meats some whole more like model prey some more like exactly what their fam has for dinner only uncooked and of course dog safe ie no onions...sone steps further only organic gluten grain free theres also specialty diets as many lead to meaning and why I prefer raw you choose each ingredient and the exact amounts you can quickly easily modify and adjust. One of my fav recipes okay well my dogs is turkey balls Ground turkey we use no addative organic I use organic extra virgin oilve oil to coat fine chopped garlic and rainbow chard apple blue berry carrot and squash chunks with a low fat cottage cheese center. If considering raw bard model prey also consider your ability to put out the vast amount effort in both time finaces and research you'll need to exert. As well the fact it isnt an overnight or over week change safely the switch takes months depending on the raw type feeding you do as well the learnibg adjusting modifying will never end. Raw.org is an amazong place but always remember it is general information. Definately aleays ask and hesitate when you have questions or doubt.

| ![]() Thanks for a good answer ! I want to feed mostly just meat (about 80% meat) with maybe some liver or other intestines with (heart, kidneys etc)., dogs are carnivores I don't believe they really need vegitables or other foods like that, I believe they mostly need meat, I don't wanna feed any corn, wheat or anything like that ![]() I think about 20% veggies would be OK,he loves them ![]() They sell ready raw food here called Hundahreysti, an Icelandic made dog food, that has been getting good grades, it is just lamb meat in it along with heart and other intestines, chopped into fine bits, with all the vitamins in it ready, so he doesn't need veggies with it. But how are your dogs doing on that food? ![]() I can't feed my dog dry food anymore I feel so bad for the poor guy to eat something dry that has no taste and no meat in it, poor thing, I'm just finishing what I have left of it and then I change to raw. He's used to getting raw bones with meat in it and when we have like lamb chops or anything like that for dinner I give him one ![]()

He hasn't been sensetive to food before but I don't want to change to quick, I don't want him to get the runs or something. What kind of veggies/fruits is good to give with this? ![]() ![]() I will give him 160 grams a day of raw, should I give then 20-30 grams plus that of fruits? something like that (just an idea)..

| ![]() Raw gelps with stools its shocking his system with both good and sometimes bad bacteria (dog become immune to a various degree) as well his ability to digest. Each dog is different consulting a veterinary nutricianist familiar with all forms of raw feeding is best. Ive heard 90of days is a minimum, but I gavr stella and chewys duck duck goose raw patties as a treat 2 years before naking the transition to where we are now.

| ![]() Im about 60 to 7p0 % meat as mine are treat gluttons and derik and the kids give them melons and carrots to such an unbeleivable degree right now. I'm guessing I personally try to do one two thirds meats including egg as meat abd a third fruuts and vegis plus vtamins but this is specific to the health concerns dictating dietary needs of my dogs. What mine get would in no way be suitible for another dog even with the same health issues its more about individual dogs responses. Scoobers actually is about 80%the abd follows the general barf guidelones Elvis and Princess have their own tailored diets we are still adjusting.

| ![]() I feed a PMR (prey model raw) diet although I sometimes cheat and use a pre made raw like NV or Primal. I aim thru time to feed 80%meat, 10%bone and 10%organ with 5% of that organ being liver. I switched over my 2 dogs at the time cold turkey and I suggest doing the same. I would start out with bone in chicken breast but remove the skin at first. Since it has a lot of fat, it can cause looser stools if your pup is not used to it. And I would wait a week or so to add in the organ meat. I would feed the bone in chicken breast for about 10 days and then maybe move to a chicken leg and start adding in the organ meat. Give that another week or 10 days and then you might want to add in another kind of meat. You might want to mix it with 1/2 chicken 1/2 the other meat (say beef or something?) and see how it goes and reduce the chicken and increase the other meat. I would give it a good week to 10 days before adding another variety of meat. Hope that helps.... |

| ![]() I feed about 4 ounces per day and including my recent splurges of $5 per lb whole sardines and eggs from pastured chickens, I average about 27 cents per day. However, I am also saving about $300 every year by avoiding dentals. I am happy to hear that Herschel is doing well.
