Both sources of HIGHLY hypo-allergenic and easily digestible animal protein. The first thing a vet will suggest is to switch to either duck or lamb.
Please do let champion pet foods know, but I am sure that if you follow my advice, everything should clear up if it is a food allergy.
I am completely devastated today I have just completed the "starvation technique" (food 3x/day for 20 mins) and my extremely finicky Yoshi FINALLY ate on a regular basis!!! At first, I tried to feed him Fromm Surf & Turf. He wasn't having it. So I laid out all of the kibble I had & let him choose. He picked the Acana Grasslands. I thought..."Good boy! he went for the good stuff!". He's been eating Acana Grasslands for the past 2 days on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, I've been noticing frequent itching & really runny eyes...big, thick white eye boogers. One of his eyes is even a little puffy. At first, I thought it was from playing in the grass. But with all this talk about the Acana formula change, I'm thinking that these are food allergy symptoms. He's also a little gassy. Not anything major, but enough that I notice a difference. I don't have any experience with food allergies, so I'm wondering if anyone can confirm my suspicions.

From what I understand, food allergies are somewhat rare but there does seem to be something up with the new formulas that is not agreeing with so many of our pups here on YT. You know how excited I was to transition Toki over to Orijen/Acana after this next bag of Fromm but now I'm leaning more toward just sticking with the Fromm for now and supplementing her diet with some type of raw *sigh*

All I can say is that when Riley was on FROMM Chicken A La Veg and the Salmon formula, his eyes were "Runny" literally, liquid running down each cheek.... and he was Gassy... where he could clear a room. I took him to the Vet and was told it was more than likely a reaction to the grains in the FROMM... I took him off of the FROMM and those symptoms went away and have not come back.

I personally would very Highly recommend CANINE CAVIAR. He is doing Exceptionally well on it. I am soooo Happy now and so is he!! He literally shrieks when I am getting the kibble out of the bag... and this a.m. he was sitting by his food bowl waiting for it!!

One more thing.....

I was Extremely Bummed that with the last bag of Acana, Wild Prairie..... Riley got very itchy and his Tummy broke out in small nasty dark dry patches... - I switched him to CANINE CAVIAR , which he has been on for 7-days now and his Tummy has really started clearing up in that amount of time. [ NOTE: We have not changed anything else in our daily routine... we go on the same amount of walks outside as we have when we started the new bag of Acana... which actually haven't been for too long because it has been sooooo HOT here, in DC!! ]

Attaching Before and After Photos. The first two are after the new bag of Acana and before the Canine Caviar. The second two are after taking him off of the Acana and switching him to the Canine Caviar... We are on our way to a clear/smooth tummy!!

I would love to see the ingredient lists of the old and new side by side. It should isolate what the issue is and let a lot of pet owners know what is bothering their babies.

I am very sorry to hear that.
Although Acana Wild Prairie is from the provincial series - that neither changed the formula nor the packaging- I would encourage you to look into the issue further, as dogs present allergies to 2 basic things:
GRAIN and some source of animal protein.
As Wild Prairie is completely GRAIN-FREE I will assume chicken might be the factor that is causing it. So I would highly recommend Acana Grasslands which again is GRAIN-FREE but features ranch-raised LAMB -and just a tad bit of duck-

They DID change that formula?!?

so confused... is that FB page even legit? Doesn't look like something they would write.
First thing I noticed was different amounts of ingredients. Chicken meal used to be #1. Now the 1st ingredient is Deboned Chicken which is a lot of water and less protein. They also made the bag smaller for the same price.

I haven't check the other ingredients, just the first ones listed for the protein content. The protein is LESS now than in the old formula.

Default If anyone is interested....

I just quickly typed up the old ingredients list from an Acana brochure that I had (excuse any typos) and I copy/pasted the new formulas below the old ones straight from Acana's website. I'm not sure if a specific ingredient change is causing the difference some of you all have been having issues with or if proportions of different things have changed or what but it's still interesting to compare

Wild Prairie:

Thank you. I'm definitely going to look into Canine Caviar. At this point, I have nothing to lose. I'm so sorry Riley had those itchies on his tummy! Poor little guy. But they seem to have cleared up quickly since you made the switch.

I forgot to ask...what is the kibble size of the Canine Caviar? Is Riley eating one of the all life stages formulas?
