| "Blue Freedom" Grain-Free Small Breed VS "Wellness Core" Grain-Free Small Breed I'm looking to switch my lil pupper Maddie to a grain-free food (and distilled water) in hopes to clear up her eye gunk and I've kind of narrowed the choices down to these two, but they seem almost the same to me. Both have not-too-high protein and fat contents for her little body, and good wholesome first ingredients. I like that these two foods have 1/2 cup feeding recommendation for her 6 pound frame. Some other foods have the same calories spread over more than a whole cup, which I think is a waste. Neither has beet pulp which I think I read the beet pulp can make the stains worse... could be wrong, not sure. Wellness is more turkey while Blue is more chicken, but I'm not sure that matters. Prices are similar... Not sure if there's any glaring reason to choose one over the other. Any thoughts? |

i just started my oscar on buffalo blue wilderness duck recipe.(grain free) i am very pleased with it. he is doing great on it. i was feeding Acana but they changed the formula and it did not agree with him i personally prefer BB over Wellness maybe you could request some samples. also if you go to the BB website and do a short survey they will send you a $5 coupon i think either one would be a good choice but it mostly depends on your dog and which food suits him/her best... good luck | |

| My family has 3 different dogs that have all done really well on the Blue Buffalo. If you're choosing between the BB Freedom and the Wellness Core, I'd lean toward the Wellness Core because I like the higher protein content and the Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acid ratio is better if that is an important factor to you. But if you're choosing between BB Wilderness and Wellness Core (which seem more similar IMO than Freedom and Core) I would go with the Wilderness just because it's something I know that my dogs have done well on. I would just go with whichever one your dog likes the best and does well with though |

| I had problems with Wellness and eye junk. I know feed my girls home cooking but leave Blue Buffalo down for them. I have been pleased with it so far.
