| Hello YT, So it is day 1 since Julius has been home and it is so strange to not see him acting like himself. All he does is stand and stare at you, sleeps, and is lazy. Which i know is all normal but I just want him back to being his self. He did eat breakfast this morning and went pee. No BM yet though. I am glad that I don't have to use the " cone of shame" yet. The vet said it was ok if he licked e area every once and a while. He has been pretty good. Julius is 1 year old. Do to financial issues I unfortunately had to wait. I brush his teeth at least 2x a week. The one question I did have, is did anyone ever experience their dog licking a lot after being neutered? Julius is licking everything, the floor, blankets, his bed....thanks again everyone for the get well wishes. I will post a little later about his progress.

| I am taking my Brisket tomorrow and am so worried... Thus why I'm up on YT after midnight. Not looking fwd to tomorrow but got some comfort from your post that I'm not alone in being worried and hopefully ill see a wagging tail when I pick him up tomorrow. He's 9 months now. They were a month out scheduling appts otherwise would have been done already. Brisket will lick our leather furniture a lot. He does it for like ten mins but not sure why.

| Just got to work. He was groggy from sedative they gave before I left. His weight/temp/blood work were all ok, but the surgery almost didn't happen because I mentioned his coughing he did this morning on the way there. Hasn't happened in a while but usually happens when he gets excited, playing with a toy that bops him on the nose or drinks water too fast, but doc said was reverse sneezes. phfeww. So here I sit... nervous watching the clock till 5:30.

| Well I cried when we left the vets. He was so sad looking and wouldn't look at me. I swear he was mad at me. There were two yorkies and a lil white puppy playing at the vet and I was so sad bc he couldn't play too. Seems a lil peppier now that were home. Had some dinner and a roll around on the carpet and finally after an hour gave me kisses. Now laying on couch and he won't stop licking my leg, which is fine w me bc it's not his stitches, so no cone of shame yet. Wish I could take off work tomorrow and stay home with him.

| Julius is getting back to his normal self..it's good to see him happy and energetic again. How is brisket doing? Wishing him and everyone else who is taking their fur baby's to get spayed or neutered a safe and quick recovery. @ huffox...I know what you mean. I think Julius was mad at me also for the first few hours...I got no love.... Now I think he is even madder at me. I tried to use the e collar but Julius found a way to still lick his scar. Being it is the 3rd day it is healing well and starting to itch a lot more. So since I had no luck with the e collar or the inflatable collar, I put doggie underwire on him. He doesn't want to move...and looks at me with those puppy eyes like " why mom"...but hey what ever works..

| Glad to hear good news about Julius. Brisket was fine when I went home for lunch, ate, walked, but no BM yet. Doc called for update and said that was normal. When I went to leave him though, he was all shaky and clung on to me. Hated leaving him again, but I'm headed home to see him now. He still had the collar on when I got home, to my surprise. He hasn't been attempting to lick too much, but thinking that will change over next day or so. A friend of mine had a picture of their lil girl in pajamas with the bottom that flap down and I thought, well that's just silly. Until now, thinking, hmm that could work to prevent licking and not be as uncomfortable as the collar. Now where to find dog pajamas that have bottoms.
